Right-arm fast-medium bowler Ehsan Adil made his international debut against South Africa in 2013 and was part of Pakistan's 2015 World Cup squad. Touted as a future all-rounder, he has the ability to contribute with the bat as well as ball.

Name: Ehsan Adil

Birth date: 1993-03-15
Hometown: Faisalabad
Teams: Pakistan, Faisalabad Wolves, Pakistan Under-19s, Habib Bank Limited

Right-arm fast-medium bowler Ehsan Adil was selected for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup after impressing the selectors with his speed and accuracy. He made his debut for the Pakistan Under-19s against Zimbabwe Under-19s in January 2012.

Representing Faisalabad Wolves, Ehsan made his List A debut in the Faysal Bank One Day National Cup Division One match against Islamabad Leopards in March 2012 where he took 1 for 41 in 9 overs. Later after the Under-19 World Cup, Ehsan was roped in by one of the biggest departmental teams in the domestic circuit, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for the President's Trophy 2012/13 for whom he picked up 4 wickets in the first innings and 2 wickets in the second innings against National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on his First Class debut. Ehsan had a fantastic start to his FC career as he made his way to the top of the bowling charts of the first ever FC tournament he played in no time.

Ehsan bowls around the 130 KPH mark and his stock delivery moves away from the right-hander.The tall young fast bowler is no mug with the bat too. He is capable of scoring quick runs down the order and can strike the ball really hard. He put in a splendid performance in the 3rd youth ODI on the tour of South Africa in early 2012, where his late order hitting took Pakistan over the line and won the series for them. Later, in the Under-19 World Cup quarterfinal clash against India, Ehsan came in to bat at number nine with Pakistan having been reduced to 98 for 7 and scored 35 runs off 38 deliveries, thereby propelling Pakistan to a total of 136 and giving the bowlers something to fight for. He then came back with the ball and picked up 2 for 25 in 10 overs.

In the Under-19 Asia Cup final, Ehsan had to bowl the final over where India required 7 to win with captain Unmukt Chand, having scored a century still at the crease. India looked hot favorites to take the game, but Ehsan held his nerves and got crucial wickets. In the end, it came down to 1 off 1 and Ehsan got a wicket to ensure Pakistan tied the game and were joint winners of the tournament.

Ehsan Adil made his Test debut against South Africa in February 2013, taking 2/54. He made his ODI debut a few month's later after being selected in Pakistan's Champions Trophy squad. He was unable to make an impression and was discarded from the squads having played the solitary Test and two ODIs.

Ehsan since his debut has played one other Test against New Zealand in 2014 but has been in and out due to various injuries. He was part of the 2015 World Cup where he picked up a wicket each in the 2 matches he played but failed to come up with any match winning performaces. In the absence of the main bowlers Ehsan is a feature of the Test squad to face Sri Lanka in 2015.
