Nephew of the great Inzamam, Imam Ul-Haq announced himself at the U19 Asia Cup in 2012, averaging 45 from 5 games including 3 consecutive fifties and 88 in his first game against India, as Pakistan went on to share the trophy with their neighbours. Further good performances against Australia just prior to the 2012 world cup showed he has the ability to adapt to the conditions, as he scored 39, 30* and 77 in the 3 games against the home side. However a disappointing World Cup followed, in which he averaged just 15 from 6 innings, with a top score of 40.
Imam's favourite cricketer is Gautam Gambhir and he enjoys listening to music and watching movies.
In a U19’s Tri-Nations Tournament held in the UAE featuring the England U19’s and UAE U19’s Imam scored 4 scores of 40 of more which included 2 fifties, one of which is in the final of the Tri-Nations Tournament against the England U19’s. Imam finished the tournament with an average of 36.5. Imam wasn’t able to carry the same form over into the 2013/14 U19 Asia Cup tournament scoring 66 runs at an average of 22 in 3 games with a top score of 42 against the Afghanistan U19’s.
After good show at the junior level Imam was signed up by KRL to play First Class cricket. He has played10 matches int he first season scoring 435 runs at an average of 31. It's still early days for him and his talent is still to be seen.
