A naturally talented left-hander, Amin is known for his impeccable timing.

Name: Umar Amin
Birth date: 1989-10-16
Hometown: Rawalpindi, Punjab
Teams: Pakistan, Federal Areas, Federal Areas Leopards, National Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan A, Pakistan Under-19s, Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi Rams
Debut: Jun 15, 2010

Umar Amin has been one of the most highly-rated performers in Pakistan for a while now, after being identified as a potential mainstay for the middle order and future captain.

An elegant left-hander, Amin made his international debut in the 2010 Asia Cup where he played three games but managed to score just 34 runs.

He was however selected for Pakistan's tour of England later that year, after Pakistan dropped a host of senior players after the ill-fated tour of Australia in 2009 and played four Tests - two against Australia and two against England - but struggled before being replaced by Mohammad Yousuf in the final Test of the tour.

At the conclusion of the 2010 England tour, he was dropped and his poor run continued as he was unable to perform well in domestic games and on the Pakistan A tour of West Indies.

After spending nearly three years away from the Pakistan team since his debut in 2010,  he was included in the squad squad for the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy but played only two games. He played four ODI matches in the series against South Africa in the UAE later that year and was part of the Pakistan squad that was the first Asian side to win a series in South Africa, in the return leg.

Amin has played almost every T20 Pakistan played in 2013, although his batting style appears to be more suited to the longer form of the game, suggesting his stop-start career could be put back on track with some sensible selection decisions.

Later in 2014 Umar Amin was picked to play Australia in UAE where he played only one ODI match scoring 19 and one T20 scoring a duck.

Amin has scored heavily in the domestic structure for his team Port Qasim which saw him get a call up for the Pakistan A squad to face Sri Lanka A in Sri Lanka to play 2 List A matches. In the 3 First Class matches though he scored a century and 99, once again revolving around the selection radar.
