Early Days: I started playing cricket at the school level. Then, I started playing for Royal Club Cricket and after a little while, Brothers Cricket Club, both in Dadu. I performed well at that level and at districl level, and then was selected for the regional team by the coaches.

First Class Cricket: I made my first class debut against Multan in Hyderabad.

Experience at Recent NCA Fast Track Spinners Camp: It was a great experience and I learned a lot from Tauseef Ahmed and Abdul Qadir. They taught me a lot about spin, such as how to use the crease. They figured out some issues with my run-up as I was running in too quick. It was very helpful.

Most Memorable Performance: It was during last year's Faysal Bank T20 tournament. It was the performance against the Lahore Eagles where I took 2/16 in 4 overs.

Favourite Hobbies: Nothing really. I just love playing cricket.

Future Plans & Thoughs On Upcoming FBT20: I am putting in the hard yards and Inshallah I will get a chance to play for Pakistan. We have a tough group in the Faysal Bank T20 Tournament, but we will be working hard to win.

Biggest Supporters: My biggest supporters have been Pervaiz Chandio and Pir Muazzam-ul-Haq Shahnawaz. They have backed me from the start and they are the reason I have come this far. Pir Muazzam-ul-Haq was the District Association President, when I first came. Pervaiz Chandio is the club president, and they have supported me a lot over the years.

Summary

Zahid Mahmood currently averages in the 30s in 1st-class cricket but has been unable to really catch the eyes of the selectors. He will need to provide some more notable performances to break into the national setup.
