Usman Khan Shinwari is a promising young bowler from Pakistan who debuted at the age of 19 in December 2013 against Sri Lanka. He suddenly caught the eye of everyone when he took 5 wickets in the Final of Faysal Bank T20 Cup for Departments, He dismissed many top Pakistani batsmen with some excellent swing bowling and was rewarded with a national call-up.

Usman Khan Shinwari is touted as the next prodigy of Pakistan pace bowling talent. He started playing first class cricket for Khan Research Laboratories in July 2013 and within a matter of months, he was getting attention from all major teams in the domestic arena.
He moved to playing for Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited which proved very lucky for him. In December of 2013, he lead ZTBL to victory single handedly in the Final of FB T20 Cup for Departments against SNGPL where he took 5 wickets giving away only 9 runs in his 4 overs. He also dismissed the Pakistan Test captain of that time, Misbah-ul-Haq as well as another Test opener Taufeeq Umar. Usman Khan finished as the highest wicket taker of that tournament.
This performance caught the eye of everyone. He was finally called up to join Pakistan's T20I squad only one day before the series against Sri Lanka was to commence. He landed straight in to his debut match and was opening the bowling along with Junaid Khan for the national team on December 11, 2013. He was only given 1 over in his first game where he gave away 9 runs. In the next game, he bowled his full quota of overs but was costly enough to concede 52 runs.
Usman did not feature in any more international matches after that and featured in a handfull of matches in the domestic arena. In October 2014, he was selected to for Pakistan A to face UAE where he played 2 List A matches failing to pick up any wicket. He until 2014-15 season has only played 6 First Class matches picking up 22 wickets at an average of 30.
