In his own words - I started my career playing club cricket in Lahore for Model Town Greens after my older brother started playing for them. He took me to some practice sessions with him and I really enjoyed myself and decided that I would play for them. My brother stopped playing cricket but I continued playing.

Cricket was not the be all and end all in those days as I was studying for a Bcon. After graduating I started to play cricket more regularly and went for a training camp for Lahore Region. However I never really got much of a chance for Lahore region.

I then went on a tour playing some Grade 2 cricket for Punjab region but out of 5 matches I was only given a chance in the last match where I took 4 wickets. I was disappointed that I wasn't given more of a chance, but I guess it was all part of the learning curve.

I then started to play some cricket for Sargodha, before in 2001 I found out that PIA were holding trials in Karachi. As soon as I found out I caught the first flight to Karachi and took part in the trials.

Moin Khan and Rashid Khan were the coaches there and they were impressed with me. I signed with PIA and have been there since, as well as playing some regional cricket for Lahore region.

The 92.5 mph delivery that is mentioned on PakPassion was in 2002 when 4 academy teams were set up by Tauqir Zia. I was playing for Punjab Academy alongside the likes of Wahab Riaz and Salman Butt. A tournament was held between the 4 academy teams and I was the leading wicket taker in that tournament. In the match at the National Stadium my Punjab team were playing against Karachi and I was measured on the speed gun as having bowled at 92.5 mph.

I've been close to selection several times for the Pakistan team. The last occasion being this year when I was named in the 30 man provisional squad for the Twenty/20 World Cup, but then missed out on making the final 15.

I've attended several training camps with the Pakistan team and the feedback I have had from the senior players has been very positive.

I was also a member of the Pakistan reserve team that played some warmup matches in Abu Dhabi earlier this year against Pakistan prior to
the matche against Australia.

I played last year in the Devon League in England and had a really good season. I'm hoping to be back there in 2010.
