Several cricketers are practising social distancing and self-isolation during the Coronavirus pandemic. The World Health Organisation and the governments all around the world are asking people to stay at home to stop the spread of the virus. With all schools, education centers, and offices closed, parents are trying to find new ways to pass their time with their families.

English cricketer Ben Stokes the took up the baton and provided a roadmap for other parents during this stay at home challenge. Stokes posted a line of activities that he has been doing throughout the day. These included lessons for children, playtime, lunch, movies, dinner, etc. This is what Stokes’ posted on Instagram.

Meanwhile, despite showing no symptoms former Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara has self-quarantined himself after returning from London due to the Covid-19 outbreak. He has been active on social media asking Sri Lankans across the nation to follow the rules set by the government.

Better to be safe than sorry. Lets say if you are mixing up with some people playing cricket at home or back yard etc, if one guy (who has the virus) holds the bat or ball and then you use the bat or ball, does this not transmit the virus?
Will make it even worse if you then go home and have someone who is pregnant or an elderly parent.

I feel the current issue is not sinking in with a lot of people.

It may just be his family. That's fine, but if it's friends then he shouldn't.

It's good to see Pakistani cricketers following the isolation properly though.

    Agreed.

His son has better batting technique than many cricketers.

Cricket has been the last thing on my mind for the first time in my life. I am sure the vast majority of cricketers feel the same except for those shameless western IPL players willing to expose themselves and others at health risk for that $1-3 million IPL paycheque

Some information and quotes regarding Aleem Dar's initiative.

"My Restaurant (Dar's Delighto) is near to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore. I opened this restaurant 2 years back and from last one year we are serving free food to needy people".

Poor and needy patients and relatives coming to Imran Khan-built Shaukat Khanum Hospital are benefited with the food arrangements at Dar's restaurant.

"Within the next six months I am going to buy three Ambulances, which will also give free services to the poor people".

"And Inshallah (God willing) I will increase my charity work in future".

Incidentally, the 51-year-old umpire who has officiated in in 386 international matches (132 Tests, 208 ODIs and 46 T-20Is) is also helping poor people in marriages.

"I am also running a cricket academy (Aleem Dar Cricket Academy) in Lahore, where the good talented poor boys are given free training and financial support to their families.

Interestingly, four impaired boys of his academy are the members of the Pakistan Deaf team.

On Friday when it was heavily raining in Lahore, the restaurant had to call the police to make the people stand in a proper queue so as distance between the persons has a minimum distance of one meter.
