NZ is choking

To win they needed 8 from 8 balls with 6 wickets in hand, they now need 6 from 1 ball with 3 wickets in hand! It gives me joy to know that we're not the only ones who do it

Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings.

Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted unconscious impulses or desires without letting the conscious mind recognize them.

Teams that are not expected to win cant really choke.

NZ usually look like winning the game at some point but mostly lose.

Whippys pst is spot on

Lol I'm quite open about our reputation for choking, even throughout this thread, so not sure what is being denied and projected onto others. NZ were the #2 ranked T20 team going into this series. With 10 needed off the last 2 overs and 6 wickets in hand they should have won it. That's a choke any which way you cut it

The problem is that we have a bunch of experienced chokers in our setup who hold the rest back - the young guys like Levi and De Lange have never experienced that before so it doesn't hold them back mentally. The previous generation of guys like Smith, Kallis and Boucher have, and when they flop they bring down the morale of the rest of the team.

I think under AB this team will do better in big matches. He made a smart call in giving Marchant the last over to defend 6 runs, even though he was expensive earlier. His pace wouldn't be easy for the new batsman to come in and face seeing that Ryder just got out. Smith would have bowled a guy like Parnell and NZ would have won with 4 balls to spare.

ridiculous idea really, all you have to do is bowl straight and slow. Even I could do that, I'd just make sure I'd bowl as slow as possible . Doesn't matter if the ball is going at 2 mph, as long as it gets to the wicket it'll be out considering there's no batsman.

Terrible by the pakistani bowlers anyway.

NZ are not that Talented side, they are honest triers. Look at there population , only 4 million, they play so many sports at International level and still punch way above there weights.

They must be appreciated.

'Ryder's selfishness' to blame for defeat - McMillan

Craig McMillan, the former New Zealand batsman, has blamed New Zealand's defeat in the third and final Twenty20 at Eden Park on Jesse Ryder for slowing down the scoring so he could get his half-century.

Further similarities abound
