The reason I started watching football. When he transferred from PSV Eindhoven( I think?) to Man U in 2001, my curiosity towards football began. He was a prolific goal scorer. One of the top 5 strikers of the 2000's for sure. He had a pretty solid stint with Madrid as well. Will miss his presence.

Very similar to me.

I started properly watching football in 2002 and instantly became a fan of RVN. The definition of a natural goal scorer. Since then he's always been my favourite player. Just wish he had stayed on at Utd for a bit longer.

As a pure goal scorer was simply awesome! such a shame he had to resort to throwing himself to the floor anytime touched him.
