So South Africa are off the mark in the tournament with style, with a crushing win over the Bangladeshis.

Yes you can Insurge, you can always post your squad early before the game. Just remember by the end of the group stages all your 15 players must have played a game.

So two major upsets today - Bangladesh defeating Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe defeating the Pakistani team.

The two group tables, Group A and B, are exactly the same, totally identical.
South Africa lost to a very spirited batting performance by NZ in a high-scoring thriller which went down to the last ball, Australia defeated India in a very low-scoring encounter. |

Great game between Pak and WI with Pak just winning after a mediocre batting performance.

Pakistan and India play out a thriller tied game.

So the West Indies are off the mark with a good win after defeating Australia.. yet they remain last place, and Australia are still above the line on second place.

So, SL defeat England by 1 run in a great game. England and NZ are still above the qualification line, both are at a shared first/second place with 2 wins from 3 games each. The groups are getting very tight now!
#21

So West Indies after crushing Zimbabwe have leaped up from last place, 2 days ago, now to a joint second place along with Australia. Thrilling stuff - tomorrow is the last day for the First Round.

There should be a thread with all the squads in one post or consecutive posts because I always have to look through the signup thread to find every team's squad.

Two upsets today - Zimbabwe scraping through WI and Bangladesh just managing to defeat NZ. Zimbabwe are on top of their table!
#24
Australia defeat WI in a thriller to take top place in their table, along with Zimbabwe! Shockingly Pakistan and India, two favorites in Group A, are under the qualifying line.. both have 5 points from the 5 games they have played so far.
#25
England crush Sri Lanka. There are three teams now in Group B which are fighting for the semi spots, and only two will make it. All 3 teams (NZ, SAF, ENG) are tied on 6 points (after 5 games each).
#26
So Australia defeat India by 2 wickets and continue their reign at the top of the Group A table - India fall from third to fourth, with Pakistan taking third place.
#27
South Africa defeat New Zealand in a very tight game - they take 1st place and England jump above the qualifying line from 3rd to 2nd - New Zealand fall under the line, to 3rd place. Things getting very tight in the group stages now, just a couple of days left till we find out who goes to the semi finals..
#28
England defeat NZ.. they keep top place along with South Africa in Group B. NZ in desperate times, they NEED to win and hope England and South Africa lose to qualify to the semis.
#29
So Pakistan CRUSH Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe scored the lowest total in any form of cricket ever, 31 all out) by 10 wickets to take second place in the table. Zimbabwe drop to third.
Sri Lanka defeat Bangladesh but they are on tied third place along with NZ. Things getting very tight in the groups now.. the race to the semis has begun! |

India defeat Zimbabwe, and England defeat South Africa. Groups getting very very tight now.
#31
So in a day of low-scoring thrillers, Bangladesh upset England by 2 wickets and West Indies ALMOST upset Pakistan but Pakistan just got through by 2 wickets. India, West Indies, and England have played all their group games. Up to the rest of the teams to find out who will qualify for the semis and who won't..
#32
If Zimbabwe want any hope to qualify.. they'll need to defeat Australia and hope Australia lose to Pakistan. A match will then be held between Australia and Zimbabwe (if all goes to plan for them) to decide who'll go through to the semi!
India and WI are eliminated. |

Last 3 games have all been played on a normal pitch, and they've all been won by the chasing team, and they've all been won by 2 wickets

anyway, Zimbabwe upset Australia and get through in a thrilling chase of 275. Zimbabwe have now also finished their group games.. they are still alive in this tournament. PAKISTAN have already made it through to the semi finals. Australia can still be knocked out if they lose to Pakistan.. then, a match between Australia and Zimbabwe will be held again to decide who goes through, as both will be tied on points.

New Zealand are still alive after defeating Sri Lanka - but they require Bangladesh to defeat South Africa, then the three of Bangladesh, South Africa, and NZ will be tied on 8 points. The team with the most away wins will then qualify. If two teams are equal on away wins too, a match will be held to decide who qualifies to the semis.
Sri Lanka are out of the tournament. Only four teams can qualify to the semi finals - England and Pakistan have qualified already - two more can qualify, but five teams, Australia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, and New Zealand are fighting it out for the two spots. Who will make it? Who'll end up dejected?

WOW!
Firstly - Australia crushed Pakistan with a comprehensive victory to take top place in their table. Pakistan and Australia however are through to the semis.. as a result, Zimbabwe's tournament is over. NEXT - Bangladesh defeat over South Africa in a shock victory!!! Three teams, Bangladesh, South Africa, and New Zealand are now tied on points.. only one will qualify. The team with the most away wins.. stay tuned to find out who goes! |

Both Bangladesh and NZ are tied on away game victories!
A 25-over knockout match will be held between Bangladesh and NZ.. right here, right now, to decide who makes it through to the semis! |

Both teams are unchanged - game will be played on a normal pitch.

Welcome to the.. National Stadium Karachi (
) for this very, very crucial knockout game between a team who was down and out a few days ago - Bangladesh, and a team which has been slightly inconsistent all tournament - New Zealand. South Africa, favorites, are out of the tournament in what's been a shocker of a tournament for them in the past couple of days. Anyway, now that's over with.. let's go down to the middle for the toss with the two captains.
#55

NEW ZEALAND have won the toss and have elected to BAT first.

NEW ZEALAND 70/3 (R/R: 7.00) Abdur Razzak 2.0-0-11-1 Grant Elliott 6(14b 1X4) Glenn Turner 2(2b) They've lost 3 wickets but they still look like they'll get 175+ from here.. |
#58

End of over 15 (2 runs)
NEW ZEALAND 84/3 (R/R: 5.60) Shakib Al-Hasan 3.0-0-13-0 Grant Elliott 12(29b 1X4) Glenn Turner 9(17b) Slowing down dramatically.. 10 overs left in the innings! |

NEW ZEALAND 106/5 (R/R: 5.30) Abdur Razzak 4.0-0-24-1 Brendon McCullum 3(4b) Glenn Turner 19(30b 1X4) They're slowing down even further and are losing quick wickets. Bangladesh pulling it back hard here after a blazing start by NZ. |
#60
End of innings (25.0 overs)
NEW ZEALAND 145/6 (RR: 5.84) Alok Kapali 1.0-0-7-0 Brendon McCullum 21(18b 2X4) Scott Styris 19(12b 2X4 1X6) And even after some late hitting by McCullum and Styris, NZ end on a below-par total of 145 when they looked like getting 175+ at one stage. They still have a decent bowling lineup to restrict Bangladesh's often erratic batting though, this should be an exciting chase! |

24.3 Mills to Mahmu'llah, no run, well bowled! Bouncer there, one for the over.. Mahmudullah is beaten in the pull shot. 3 to win off 3 balls.. VERY tense here!

#72
24.4 Mills to Mahmu'llah, no run, what's Mahmudullah doing?! It was a poor ball, full toss outside off which should have been hit to the boundary.. but Mills gets away with it. Mahmudullah tried to heave across the line over midwicket, no contact.. 3 to win off 2 balls, NZ have the edge here again!
#73
24.5 Mills to Mahmu'llah, no run, SUPERBLY BOWLED, KYLE MILLS! Slower bouncer there at 111ks, very well disguised, Mahmudullah is struck on the hip playing the pull shot too early and Mills picks up the ball. 3 to win off the last ball, 2 to tie! What a game, both teams really want to make it to the semis badly.. but only one will. Here we go..

24.6 Mills to Mahmu'llah, one run, NEW ZEALAND WIN! THEY ARE THROUGH TO THE SEMIS! WHAT A MIRACLE AFTER BEING DOWN AND OUT A FEW DAYS AGO! Yorker again, bang on target, Mahmudullah just hits it to mid-on and they run a single.. Bangladesh are disappointed.

What a game. Bangladesh have to be applauded too, it was a superb game but the tail just couldn't get the 5 runs needed off the last over. They really played better than expected this tournament, although they were inconsistent.

This tournament has gone smoothly without any bumps and it's all credit to you guys, you've been amazing. Sorry to all the managers and the teams who got eliminated, better luck next time. And best of luck to Inswinger (England), Usama (Pakistan), insurge (New Zealand), and me of course
may the best team win!
