Yousuf says he's been released from ICL

Mohammad Yousuf has said he has obtained a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Cricket League, which will pave the way for him to return to international cricket for Pakistan. The batsman said he had submitted the certificate to Wasim Bari, the Pakistan Cricket Board's human resources director.

Should be back for the test series against Sri Lanka in July Insh'Allah.
And with all the ICL top performers coming back (Rana, Nazir, Razzaq) and the CT in September...who knows!

Not if PCB goes around talking about cooling period. Treat them all the same, which means no cooling period and no fines and bans as they said they will go on case by case basis which is very wrong. The one needed most in tests is the one who probably should get the worst of the case by case basis but they might make it opposite

Come the ICC champions trophy in September Pakistan should have a strong line-up with Yousuf and Asif returning!

Will the likes of Razzaq Rana and Imran Nazir be available by then?

If PCB starts the cooling of period from when they last played they can have a six month cooling of period and all of them could be selected MY is sure to play test cricket as Butt & YK want him in the side.

what I am wondering what our side would be once if they do come back
atleast one good thing about ICL is there is competition for every spot in the team and hopefully selectors and YK will have the guts to drop non performers even if they are so called seniors
so far what I have seen of YK I dont see him to be much diffrent from Malik
in tactic etc the only thing going for him is has the support of all the players

they give different messages depending on who is speaking and on what day of the week. They started talking of cooling period 2-3 months ago. then there was signals that Moyo will be playing tests against SL and sametime there was reports about fines and bans (probably length of cooling periods) on case by case basis. The more important you are the less I suppose though most of the rest have hardly any chance to play in national team anyway

what relevence is an NOC? they need an accepted resignation, the ICL never had any objection to any of their players playing for their national team.

isnt this a completely irrelevant move by yousuf?

No. The BCCI insists on players quitting the ICL before they can play for their national team. So this teams that Yousuf can play for the national team again...Unless he gets mad at the captain and goes back to the ICL...

Cooling period for what? Because BCCI wants to teach these guys a lesson?
Same BCCI that is denying Pakistani team participation in the t20 CT?

Honestly, PCB will be a band of idiots if they tell Yousaf "Sorry mate. You cant play for a year"

if the icl players are back for champ trophy then just have a look at this team;

Imran nazir
kamran akmal
younis
yousuf
misbah
malik
afridi
razzaq
rana
gul
asif

amazing team for t20 and odiz

Need I remind you that almost all those guys were cast offs. Why they are suddenly looked at as saviors now baffles the mind. Nazir was mighty impressive, but Razzaq looked like he had nothing left when he quit.

id have alam in for misbah and maybe this new chap, shahzaib (?) for butt, as long as he proves to be vaguely consistent. with that tea, you can afford to forego a solid opener for some explosiveness, given everyone down to 9 can hit a 50, and has done regularly. id also play akmal at 3, he has to come in near the top of the order.

nazir
shahzaib
akmal
younis
alam
malik
afridi
razzaq
rana
gul
asif

thats 6 1/2 bowlers (giving fawad half a spot), and in additon, i think younis should bowl himself with more regularity, like sewag or tendulkar. the other problem i see is where to put in yousuf!

I am not overly pleased with the return of our former rejects Nazir, Rana, Razzaq etc.

Yousaf is a different story. Lets hope he still has that spark in him.

I dont see why or what basis nazir should get in odi team?

Razzaq and Rana should be in contention for one slot depending on what you prefer (bolwing allrounder or batting)

Id take rana in odis over razzaq

All 3 are a must in 2020 though

Yousuf should nicely slot back in our test and odi team

Even Abdul Razzaq is going to hand over the NOC to PCB in a couple of days. Today every1 could listen to that as he said that live on Geo after the match.

I agree, NOC has no relevance ICL always have stated they could play for their countries

They need a resignation acceptance letter from ICL or something saying they are no longer part of ICL

If this is true then MoYo needs to spend the rest of his life praying for the wellbeing of the ICL bosses because they've been very forgiving.

Most other companies that had been lied to and had their trust broken so many times would make life as difficult as possible for MoYo

He got permission and they let him go. I don't see what the problem is.

I think its the fact that hes joined twice and quit twice without so much as a peep from the ICL that the OP was referring to. They could have turned the screws on him and apparently the ICL contracts are very one sided for the ICL, but they let him play.

Even if he offered to clean their houses for a year he couldnt repay them for the way they've put up with his yoyo-ing and word breaking. They must be glad to be rid of him and the headache of a lawsuit.
