NA sports committee’s Iqbal Muhammad Ali resigns

Quote:
KARACHI: The head of an influential Pakistani parliamentary committee on sports has resigned in frustration at the state of affairs in national cricket.

“The state of cricket affairs is before everyone, it is in poor shape and yet nothing is being done to change the tide,” Iqbal Muhammad Ali, who headed the National Assembly standing committee on sports, told a news conference on Saturday.

“I am resigning because the government has not bothered to implement any of the recommendations made by this committee for improvement and betterment of sports in the country,” Iqbal added.

The national assembly committee has frequently summoned officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appear before it, most recently on the spot-fixing allegations against three players, and has publicly called for PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt to resign.

If more PPP jiyalas voice their discontent, probably because Ijaz Butt hasnt offered enough cash bribes ( ) then Zardari may be forced to take action.

It depends what means more to Zardari, the PPP jiyalas on the sports panel or Ahmed Mukhtar.

Ahmed Mukhtar! You underestimate the power that guy holds, and the constituency he belongs to

this is more political. He represents the MQM party if I am not wrong, and MQM is slowly withdrawing from the ruling coalition

No he is from MQM, Do you really think a PPP jiyala would have cared anything about sports or spoken like that. And hats off to him for making a wise decision but in reality it won't make difference to ijaz buttah or zardari, only advantage is that he deservingly will get sympathy from Pakistani people and nothing else.

That's what happens when your president is running 'one-man show and Pakistan can't afford a one man show now.

Zardari neither gives damn to Jiyalas or any one else, except those who will support his agenda of looting the country and poor people of Pakistan and getting his share for his kids living abroad, before he will escape from Pakistan in a planned strategy to enjoy all the looted money in some foriegn and safe country such as UK, France or US.

If Zardari was caring for jiyalas or Pakistan, he would have cared for closed friends of Benazir such as Safdar Abbassi, Nahid Khan etc.

Looks like the PPP are losing their Sindh card too,MQM now voicing their discontent in all matters, including Ijaz Butt.

This is a blessing in disguise,PPP grip on power is fast disappearing.Theres also reports of PML-N and PML-Q doing a deal.It seems that even they are sick to death with these idiots running politics, sport and the nation.
