Is Hafeez going to be the captain in T20 WC?
Now, we all know that cricket is a game of skill display and chance. On it's day, a very good team could play the game as cricket reserved for mentally retarded and the other way round.
Strange phenomenon happen in cricket. Unexpected and unthinkable are the terms that sometimes don't find their place in a cricket dictionary. So now we got this gentleman, Hafeez. Hafeez a batsman, as we all know, has been pretty ordinary. Hafeez as a bowler is been fairly OK. Hafeez as a fielder is nothing extra special to be talked about. In a more realistic and competitive world, Hafeez would hardly make it to the team with the above three characteristic, so automatically Hafeez was perhaps not an ideal player you would think to be made the captain of T20. But when Hafeez took over captaincy, I noticed that all of a sudden he was quite vocal in the field, he kept things moving, kept on adjusting the field with lots of animation, kept the communication lines open with the players, and yes, he made some blunders too. My question is, how good of a decision is it to make a guy the captain who hardly makes it to the squad, but then his captaincy display hasn't been a disaster either? |

Can't really assess his captaincy after 2 games really therefore most likely he'll be the captain going into the World Cup.

If he is not changed and fails miserably against the Aussies, then the PCB will have a real problem on their hands, especially if Misbah doesn't make it back to the squad.
If he does well, then everything will be alright. |

Not good enough a player to be in our T20 Squad...
We need agressive openers. |

Not good enough as opener. And he bottles it at the big stage.

I have no complaints with Hafeez's captaincy but yes his batting leaves a lot to be desired. He can obviously play a role in the team as an all-rounder. He really is a very very good 6th bowling option. If Pakistan could bring in Azhar Mahmood it would really balance our team to be honest.

Hafeez's average since his comeback in 2010 is 34.47 against NON-MINNOW TEAMS Excluding 2012, his average since his comeback is 37.31 against NON-MINNOW TEAMS Plus he is the NUMBER 2 ODI Bowler in the world! And he is comfortably in the top 5 fielders of the Pakistan team. So how do these figures tell us that he is worth being dropped as captain?!?!?! He has only played two matches as captain so far. He has also won one of them! |

Have a feeling the series against Australia is going to decide who the captain will be. I hope Hafeez performes and is retained.
