Are Pakistani fast bowlers lacking in Aggression?

It feels to me like our current crop of fast bowlers lack in aggression. We used to have the likes of Akhtar n waqar who used to run in and create fear in their opponents eyes.

Out of the current fast bowlers we have steyn who is very aggressive by nature.

By aggression i mean players who always give 110% no matter how bad they may be bowling. Talking about those who always are pumped up.

Amir showed signs of this sort of aggression but bowlers like Gul, Junaid and Sami don't seem to have that in them. They seem fragile for good fast bowlers.

Pattinson the young Aussie has shown great aggression with ball too.

What do ppers feel??

Arguably the greatest fast bowler of all time, Wasim Akram never sledged against the batsmen.. The only time I saw Wasim showing aggression was when Sri Lankan umpires were turning down his appeals for plumb lbws.. That sure got him angry.. Ended up getting a hattrick if I remember correctly..

Aggression comes when you know you are good. For fast bowlers, it would be when they know they are fast and menacing. Akhtar, Wasim, Waqar had it.
Ab in trundlers se aggression ki ummeed is na-insaafi hai.
Just imagine them showing aggression while going at 7+ runs per over. LOL

I don't think any of your current crop is good enough to translate aggression into performance.

Our president is a proved criminal mate. Amir is nothing in-front of him. Theses cheaters are regarded as national heroes here.

Junaid is a really aggressive bowler, even Gul does show agression at times when he is in rhythm

Our bowlers do show aggression when they have the opponent in their grasp and are feeling really confident. Gul really got under that Canadian player's skin during the WC.

Junaid is naturally aggressive and so is Talha.

Ajmal is pretty aggressive as well.

This has to be the funniest thing i have read in ages..

There is a fine line between agression but being sportsman like and aggression and being a ****. Broad, andre nell, Sri Santh etc fall into the latter category.

Of the former category you could definitely say shohaib, macgrath, Flintoff, Donald, Waqar, Wasim had this but thats coz of their ability to take wickets at any stage of the game and natural stamina. (some more than others)

But definitely in the current group of pakistani bowlers nobody comes close and its a shame really coz that mongrel quality was always synonymous with pakistan bowling.

I think of the recent attack asif was the most unusual where he would conjour wickets through stealth rather than muscle but pak lack both at the moment. Maybe junaid will have something up his sleeve in south Africa.

Wahab Riaz is the man for this job. He will be back soon. He is better than half of the bowlers being selected right now and comes with pace plus aggression

With pace will come true aggression and the type that may actually send shivers down the spines of batsmen the world over. And by pace I mean someone who is consistently bowling at 90mph+ with the ability to crank it up to beyond 93mph. Sadly at present we do not possess any bowler who fits that description.
