Seems Waqar don't Have Problems With Team Management

his recent interview was aired yesterday on "TV One" channel in their programme " With Due Respect"

on question that PCB said that it was team management decision to keep him only for test and they don't need him for ODIs. and it's not board decision :

Waqar : how that can't b board's decision ? they are the one who decide everything. and he mentioned BOB is was not in Pak recently and when he was on Hajj, Inzi used to call nearly everyday to Saeed Anwer na used to ask us how their Hajj is going and Anwaer used to tell pass Inzi's Salam and well wishes to him. But Inzi never talked about if he (or management) thinks he is not needed anymore. And Waqar thinks if that was team mangement decision to leave him out, then atleast Inzi would have mentioned it to him.

On Question PCB saying (or other reports) that he got another job as bowling coach so he left this job with Pak team :
Waqar : Let me clear this thing that at moment I don't have any job offers in my hands and he don't have any hidden agenda or what so ever. And he didn't leave this job coz of any new offer.

On Question PCB said that it was in Waqar's contract NOT to travel with team when on tour and it was in Waqar's contract to take care of academy and groom new guys, but Waqar didn't .
Waqar : It was in my contract when they they (PCB) ll feel, they will send me with team and when he is not needed, he will stay back in Pak. BUT he has been with team and that's PCB's to send me and he didn't go with team on his own. And as for academy goes, there is not happening in acedemy. dogs are barking here and there in academy and acdemy is closed for nearlt 1.5yr now. And it was not his (Waqar's) job to find new guys first and then groom them. It was PCB job to give him facilities and arrang everything for him but they didn't. few coaches go to acedemy, have chit chat, drink tea and go back to him. And new acedmy been haded over to Aaqib Javed.

On question that he left for Hajj without holidays/permission and it was against his contract
Waqar : well I don't think that is reason, if that is reason then completely fire me from job, why they can take me for tests and not for ODIs ? and if going to Hajj is their excuse then it's fine with me and Hajj is more important to me.

on Question BW replacing Javed Miandad
Waqar : thinks that may b Javed lacks "how to give instruction" and BW can easily do what he wants to say to guys. He said no doubt Javed have given alot to Pak and players and you ask any player in team (including Inzi) and they will admit that Javed have helped him alot. But Javed had one problem that he used to compare everything to himself like " If I can play this shot why u can't play" etc. and some guys were not happy with his attitude. And also Waqar thinks coaching courses are not encesary to b good coach if you have experience (like Miandad) at international level.

an in beginning of interview, he said he feel bad and sorry for Pak team,Pak cricket and fans and it was not right time to leave the job as WC is jsut around corner but he was not left with any other option.

BTW who is Jhon Snow (or may b i forgot name) as Waqar mentioned that he came as bowling coach too (just like Jonty Rhodes) while he was doing job as bowling coach. He felt been insulted but he kept quite for team's sake and may be bowlers can learn something new.

In one question's reply Waqar also mention that ppl know and he (Waqar) know that that he had made difference. Waqar said, he don't want to mention in details but he had made difference. And person who have served Pakistan cricket and now still want to serve team should not be treated like clerk.

Here's John Snow's profile ...

I was right ... he's an oldie ... 65 years old. I wonder how he helped our bowlers???

He's actually one of BW's old buddies from his playing days with England.

John Snow is an English bowler and he had helped Imran Khan in bowling long long time ago, and I believe he is friend of Bob and so Bob must have asked him to help out the Pakistani bowlers....

I was watching Waqar on BKBH a program on GEO Sports, and he exhibited a very gentleman behavior. When the callers called and asked him about the bowling coach fiasco, the camera was directed at his face, and what i could pick out was that it was a very painful question for him. He either has to be a very good actor, or else he was on the verge of tears. He did make a difference and we all know that.
Its so ridiculous that Cronyism brought an end to the services of this great bowler, who could have done wonders to our bowling. And in place is a gentleman who hasn't even done what he is supposed to do and that is teach Kaneria. According to my knowledge Mustaq has been for quite some time with the team, and Kaneria has been going down hill since.
If Inzamam has any role in (directly or indirectly) , well then i lose all my respect for him.

If Mushtaq was any good he'd be playing on the team rather than coaching Kaneria. Anybody ever think of that.

waqar was saying on GEO's prog that BOB needs a helping hand.mushy is a better package for BOB as he can help in batting, bowling and fielding where as waqar was only working on bowlers.thats why inzi and BOB were supporting mushy's inclusion.also mushy happened to be a real mate of inzi...
