Your own current Cricket season stats

To those that play - how are you going or how did you go with your current/last season?

I've only just made a comeback after 3-4 years off and played only a handful of games (approx 6-7)

Open the bowling and have got 13 wkts at 26 a piece (best figures of 5/13)

Bat at anywhere between 7-10 and have scored 90 or so runs at an average of 30 (not outs have helped) at an Afridi Bhoot Bhoot strike rate of 180+ (highest score of 30*(13)) so far)

Play semis this weekend.

nice stats for comeback season

This is my 2nd season after playing again, and we decided to move up 2 whole grades
While we have been competitive with our bowling our batting sucks, strokemakers who dont have temperant, mostly like pakistan of old. Myself personally, season has been horrible atleast last season i picked up a 5 fer and had an average of 17, this year i have been been bowling like a trundler and getting smacked.

In batting, i am a razzaq type player, either block or smash, played a gud innings of 20(14) the other day to win our first match, and just won another last sat, but it seems too late in the season to make semis, need to win all games from here on to even have a chance

Where abouts do you play if you dont mind me asking? and goodluck for your semis

Hah that batting team sounds frighteningly similar to ours - I guess that is an inherent thing about Pakistani sides - you field 11 all rounders lol.

I play in the VSCA (Victorian Sunday Cricket Association). Most likely going to be my final season do thought I'd give it a shot and hopefully help our club to the premiership.

Average of 17 is very impressive.

Last season was not more then a shame for me I was performing quite similar to indian trio or even bad.

in 8 games I played I didnt passed score of 20 with 2 ducks and actually the whole batting lineup was in trouble we lost 6 games out of 8 and only once our team was able to go past 200. I guess there were lots of factors, bad captaincy, old and unprofessional players, some times not even 11 guys present at the day of play and no one with attitude of winning. I bowl off-spin and was really under used normally in last 3 4 overs before other team was about to chase down huge total we gave them of 150 .

I left my old club last year after the season and not really sure if I play this year or not although I took over my weight issues and fitness and now at the best of my fitness ever after losing 16 KG and looking like a greek-god with muscles and stamina to run 5KM everyday after workout.

I went to SA so missed most of the season. I did play two "unofficial" warmup type relaxed games, in one of them I bowled very tightly and castled a tail-ender with an in-swinger, and in the other I smashed 50 (27 b 2x4 4x6)

But they weren't official games, just "pre-season" fun games

Nice. Some of the good stuff.

Jamal-ox, what has hampered your typically prolific run-scoring and bamboozling leg-breaks?

Moiz, very nice. 2x4s and 4x6s!

A lot of rain and retarded captaincy. In 8 games have batted 5 times (3 ducks ) and bowled 24 overs. Taken 9 wickets at 19 SR of 20

Season is still half way here in Dubai ... I captain and open for my team, so far I had pretty good run; best innings of 87 (60); some other small cameos with not outs ... just one loss under my belt as captain so far.

February onwards is pretty busy ... Inshallah will give my best

In honesty it was lollipop bowling, very casual. One bowler was a dibbly dobbly medium pacer and the other was a chap who I guess wanted to be like Anil Kumble or Venky Prasad; he couldn't tell whether he wanted to bowl seam or non-turning, quick leg-spin

2010 was not so good for me, was in two minds whether to play like Miandad or The Shahid SS ..... bowling was not bad though averaged 18 with a strike rate of 20 something but just like a typical pakistani team we have 11 all rounders so didn't get to bowl that much.

In 2011 things turned around, I went to open and started batting like the Ox-Ram and it worked. Scored lots of runs with a beastly strike rate of mid 130s. Here is the link to my stats:

http://bwcv.play-cricket.com/profile/statistics.asp?id=386331

These are just for the league matches, had even more beastly success in friendly games but stats are not there.

Hoping for more of the same this year

Starting with a new team will play a warm up T20 game on Sunday I hope this season goes better then the last one or I have to think about future may be its time to say good bye to proper league cricket and just stick to tape ball slog fest. (Difficult times)

Only started playing hard ball cricket and not played any cricket for around 6-7 years.

Anyway I'm a left arm spinner and so far have bowled 12 overs of spin with no prior experience with hard ball whatsoever. First two games were friendlies and got 2 wickets in 1st game and 1 in second. First league game we played was against the reigning champions and got 3 for 29 off 4 overs so pretty happy considering I still have a lot of bowling required before I can apply my trade to a higher standard. (my spinning finger has been very very sore though due to bowling with hard ball).

Batting have been plonked at number 10 even though I'm fairly competent but hopefully will get to move up eventually.
