Just heard about the questions that was asked to Salman Butt by ICC in todays hearing...

Q: Why did you give third over of the innings to Muhammad AMir?

Ans: Because he was our best bowler and so often the best bowler bowls the 1st, 3rd, 5th over. Plus it wasn't the first time I did it....

Getting to the nitty gritty now.

This isn't going to be an easy case (whether this one or the full hearing with all the evidence being presented) for the ICC to execute is it?
There's a lot of circumstancial evidence and that Majid video ain't watertight.

Game on.

Geo's numainda at the hearing said that he saw both Aamer and Butt with their lawyers in the tea break and both were smiling and looking confident so there are some serious chance that they might be cleared to play pending the full investigation.

Considering our team's current performences, they should be brought into the team as soon as the 3rd ODI starts. They are already in DUbai so shouldn't be a problem to draft them in...

Even if the ICC does clear them to play pending the full investigation, I don't think Ijaz Butt will allow them to play. He's become an ICC puppet over the past few weeks.

I remember the T20 vs. NZ in Dubai.

I thought Sami in 2007 was quick, but uff, Amir?

was like lightning, McCullum couldn't touch him even if you gave him six bats.

No player is bigger than the team.If guilty, they have to be banned.

Aamer's version of events is gonna be the headline though.

Geez, when I was 18,my exam revision hardly hit the headlines.

Of course. I myself wanted to cry at the time. And I'm in my mid-twenties.

A lot of people want to see him unbanned, but the mental scars if anything will remain with him.If he bowls a genuine no-ball,people will jeer him.He won't be the same Aamer we all knew, thats the thing.

I hope for his sake he is banned.I just cant see him back to his best, bowling yorkers, swinging the ball a mile again.Thats why we can feel Aamer's pain more than Asif's or Butt's,who act as if nothing hurts them.

I hope he has rhinoceros skin.Wheres Maqbool Babri the therapist when you need him

Inspite of all this controversy, he remains my favorite cricketer. I want nothing more than to see him back in the field. Watching him bowl is the reason I started following cricket again after a long time. But now he is tainted and people will always be cynical towards his achievements. To me personally, that attitude of fans would be pretty hard to stomach. i can't even imagine what it would be like for him. Which is why, I feel that if he gets a ban for a short period, it would help his own cause. People will be less cynical towards his achievements because he would have already paid the price for his error. Most people believe in reform. It is a very romantic concept. So his fan following would only grow on his return. I want what is best for him long-term.

How pathetic are we?
These guys even if"cleared" should not be anywhere near the team for a long time.
We let Akram and co get away with things and it got worse. Please dont make the same mistake.Doesn,t matter how good the player(Amir and Asif) is or how pathetic (Butt) they should be taught a lesson.

I urge PCB to keep cheats away from the team even if let
of by ICC.Amir is young 2 years out rof the game will give him a 12/15 year career.Asif is repeat offender and enough is enough now as for Butt worst opener of a very poor bunch(Hafeez/farhat/Taufeeq/Hameed) should not play ever again.

Mohsin Khans exact words:

“I do hope Salman Butt and Mohammad Aamir will be successful in getting their provisional suspension lifted. And if the ICC removes the suspension we will seek a NOC from the PCB to immediately consider their cases for national selection, Mohsin told Dawn on Thursday. “In the end a decision in the best interest of Pakistan cricket will be taken.”

That basically means, if their ban is revoked then they will be picked, he cant fully commit to saying we will pick then if they are banned because if there suspension is not revoked then he will look like a bit of a"

MHK said IF he is given clearance. You said in your post that he HAS been given clearance. Misreporting.

The hearing has been postponed because the ICC presented new evidence to the players lawyers.

Oh snap!
