I am innocent

Majeed also predicted i will bowl around the wickets. But i did not. Who cares about the coincidental no ball. I am innocent"

I have done nothing wrong
up to now i was hoping he was going to come out of this with a hefty fine or a very light ban. But now he's insulting everyone's intelligence by claiming the no ball was 'coincidence'

min 5 year ban is in order imo

What kind of board doesn't pay for its player's lawyer fees? Facepalm PCB.

Why is he saying this in TV now....if he was innocent, why the heck did he NOT say this right away?? he and Salman never said "WE ARE NOT GUILTY" right away, Salman was given chances...on media...countless times, he never said HE IS INNICENT.

Amir now comes on TV once a week to claim he is innocent, why did he not call GEO/Dunya on 1st Sep if he was innocent...to me that is first thing I'd do if i was innocent

I think it should be noted that the ICC has charged these players and the PCB is part of the ICC (Butt is on the ICC executive board). If the PCB are part of the prosecution and are paying for the defense you get a conflict of interest.

This needs to be made clear, the PCB which is part of the ICC have charged him so it would be farcical if they were paying for his defense.

Doesn't mean they are found guilty...They are innocent until proven guilty. So the board should support them at all costs and back them.

The only way the PCB could support them is to withdraw from the ICC.

PCB has no right to support the players. I haven't always praised PCB but i am with them on this. Why should they support the player when there is an overwhelming evidence against this. It betrays common sense to make yourself a fool in front of the international media and support the players who are bound to be banned for many many years.

He is digging his own cricket grave in my opinion. When this first went down, everyone was quick to defend Amir. Respected writers and ex players were calling for a short ban, due to his age. If Amir had of confessed and acted with some humility, he would have probably got a light sentence, maybe a couple of years. If they included the past few months, then it would have been less than two years. He would have been back in the team at age 20, still younger than most other players when they start their career. But by playing everyone for a fool and pretending he is innocent, he's just using up any good will he had. Wouldn't be surprised if he has the book thrown at him now.

I still cant believe him and Salman Bhutt keep on saying that the noball were just a 'prediction'. thats almost impossible thing to do because Majeed espically said which ball from which over would be the 'no ball'...
why cant they say that majeed was a RAW agent? or Bribed by ICC to set them up?

Personally, I would have forgiven Amir if he had just accepted his mistake and done his time. But now he is trying to be too clever and using the whole 'I am Godly person' and 'They want to bring down Pakistan' B.S. to drive away the little sympathy that his fans had for him.

I think he is the kind of person who cannot go against his friend and that is why he is being reluctant to expose Salman. Someone should tell him that Salman is doomed for life and Amir should protect his ass while he can.

I think someone must tell how stupid he is , there is enough on it , if he have any done any wrong inside of making up more lies ... he should say sorry for his wrong doings .... & may be one day .... after serving ban for 3-5 yrs ... he may be able to come back but making these interviews isn't helping anyone ... if he wanna be logical he could have said .. what if the video was made after I bowled the ball .... which is more sensible statement then saying it was all by chance

No, to be logical he should have said:

"I am sorry, yes I bowled a no ball on purpose. I have never lost a game on purpose and at the time, I thought a no ball was no big deal. I accept it was wrong and accept with the greatest regret my actions. I am young and looked up to my captain Butt and more experienced partner Asif and thought that if they were doing it, it cannot be that bad. I am at the mercy of the ICC and will accept any punishment they deem fit to give me'.

If he had done that right from the begining, I can almost guarantee that he would have been given a two year ban. As things are going, wouldn't be surprised if it's a life ban.

Life ban will be right after his recent interviews. He has shown no remorse or regrets for his actions. Really reflect the state of the country. Every1 is involved in corruption but no1 wants to admit

Why doesnt he say that all the predictions for the previous 2 test didnt come true at all?

that would be a more solid defense than the 'I didnt bowl around the wicket'

i hope all fixers get jailed/life ban including amir. wasim akram was not banned a decade ago, which is why when another wasim was born (amir) he turned out a cheat too. i wish amir gets a life ban if he is found guilty of spot fixing so that when another amir comes along 10 years later he is loyal to his country.

Snippets from the interview..(not word to word)

Host:Any player which you always want to get out on the first ball...or favorite player to play against?
Amir:Watson

Host: People say that you asked the captain to move your fielding positions towards the boundary ..for the girls?

Amir:Its a very wrong....allegation. It depends from where I'm bowling from and a player usually asks me to switch places with him

"Majeed also predicted i will bowl around the wickets. But i did not."

so no denial by Amir (or Salman Butt) that the NOTW video was made after the fact

if the NOTW had fabricated the video they would also have been correct on that point

obviously Mad Max forgot to instruct Amir to bowl around the wicket, or more likely, Amir himself forgot the instruction

A life ban would be stupid as such a punishment doesn't fit the crime, i would say he should get a ban from 3-5 years, though in case of 5 year ban, his career might well be over.

Regardless of whether or not I believed it, I loved this quote about bowling that no-ball because he wanted to bounce Trott cuz he got pissed off that Trott dared to walk down the pitch to him:
