we had our opening match against them in last WC too....can't forget that day ...

on topic : they are good @ home to beat them there will not be easy ...btw they played some good matches in recent memory .....

i think Batting is the real issue for them....IMO Tamim & Saqib are brilliant

They can Reach QF for sure...... Not sure about SF. Sakib and Razzak will be key of their Bowling... In Batting, I don't count Ashraful at all, Tamim, Rakibul and Sakib are their main dependable Batsmen.. Wishing them All the Best...

WIll depend a lot on the kind of the pitches they have in BD. If those are turners , they will have a chance to move to QF, else will be tough. Spinners are their strength and their biggest hope.

Also playing at home with the pressure building up (huge euphoria given recent performances of BD in home ODIs) may play a role.

I think they will cause some havoc in their WC group.

any 'top' side that is not at their A game could end up losing to them.

I hope and wish they beat India in the opening match which is at their home ground and BD will have all the advantage in the world and inshallah they will give india a tough fight and they possibly could beat them aswell just like they did in 2007. If BD wins the first match, for them it will be a greatet acheivement....Hope they do well and reaches group stage.

It will be down to the spinners and Tamim. If Tamim keeps up his form then they may spring few surprises.

They have a very decent chance of reaching the QF and if they are on a roll, wouldn't be surprised to see them in the semis.

Depends on Ashraful's form, he looked good in the domestic league matches, everything depends on Ashraful's one magic knock. Hope we play good cricket.

hopefully ashraful will not get a single game, as we have better players now. ashraful is not a bad player, but he is a burden nowadays when it comes to international cricket.

the team should be like this:

tamim
imrul
junaid
nafees
shakib
mushfiqur
naeem
shuvo
abdur razzak
rubel
shafiul.

key players should be spinners.

from batsmen, tamim may need to play a very important role.

At home they will be dangerous.

Especially if they are able to put a decent total and chock the oppostition batsmen with their spinners.

I really really really hope they win their first game.

Salaam bro. How do your fans rate him now? I remember that many Bangladeshi fans started hating him and felt he was a liability to the team for the past years?

Bangladesh have beaten every team in this world cup in their last 11 years in ODI:

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...iew=opposition

except for pakistan ;)

but my point is due to this format, they just have to beat West Indies, Ireland and Netherlands to get into QF. Then they will play the winner of Pak's group, which will probably be SriLanka. Now, Bangladesh have beaten SL twice in their history already, all they need is a good day and they're into the semis. There, they're most likely to be playing SA. Now in the last world cup Bangladesh actually beat SA, plus SA still have the choker tag...soooo

many if's and but's but, its possible.

But then even if the above does happen, in the final they will meet a powerhouse who's in top form and who will thrash them, so no chance of winning for me.

Mushfiqur must bat at four. He has been wasted down the order for too long. He topped the batting charts in the Premier League batting at number 4 for his team. Ashraful is not dependable enough to bat there and Rokibul is very poor at rotating the strike and ends up putting pressure on his partner and the lower order. Thankfully Shakib has realised this and said that he wants Mushfiqur to bat there.

If we must play Ashraful then he must not bat earlier than number 6 where he can play his cute cameos. Alok Kapali would have been better in that regard.
