How many Games do we need to win?

To reach the quarter final? I mean 3/3 and we have 3 more against:

Australia
New Zealand
Zimbabwe

Realistically we should beat Zimbabwe but I am not sure against NZ and AUS. I mean I am a massive supporter but this is cricket and anything can happen.

So lets say we have a guaranteed 4 wins from 6 games (worst case) will we be through? We will end up on 8 points.

NZ have been bashing minnows though and we beat them in NZ already... man this will be one great match. Glad we play Zim next and if we Beat NZ than that should be a fun game and then we can play Aus with no pressure meaning we might lose that one

Pakistan should win 2 out of those 3 and finish in a strong position in the group. Semi-finalists right now, for me, would be Australia, India, Sri Lanka, and the winner of the England v Pakistan quarter-final

^ Eng could finish 3rd and Pak 2nd their respective groups . Eng vs Pak q/f is a strong possibility

i hope we beat NZ and have been looking at England v Pakistan QF possibility- would be by far our biggest meeting since 1992. If in Dhaka, I would back Pakistan but England have a good recent record.

I think Pakistan have more motivation to win really, but England are like Pakistan, unpredictable and dangerous!

What if Pak vs NZ GAME washed out and shared one point each and then Pakistan lost to Australia as well but won against ZIM only? Where will Pakistan end up in the group and which team in quaterfinal will they face?

I'm scared to face England

I had a match with them in Cricket 2007...in the Quarter-Finals and I lost to them...

They made 317-5 in 50 overs...And I could only make 314 All out..

as an answer to the thread title... we always need to win all matches that we play
but talking abt the max no. of matches that we may compromise to lose is only 1 for me just to end in a strong position in this group .. otherwise we might be facing SA or IND in the QFs!

Strong possibility of an English or West Indian QF for us. An England vs. Pakistan match is always great, and I think we have a slight advantage over them at the moment. However we shouldn't get complacent.

England are capable of a Pakistan style fightback too, and if Morgan comes back it's pretty much level. The one advantage that we have is that this is the subcontinent.

The forecast is good for Tuesday so hopefully we will have a result. Pak already through, results in the other group could still go either way can't predict who will finish where in the top 4
