IF Sneijder does indeed make a move to Manchester United then what a signing it would be. Having a attacking midifelder or advanced playmaker in the side will benefit any team, especially when it comes attacking. Signing Sneijder will make a HUGE difference for Manchester United, this would be a great capture for them.

Sky Sports sources understand Barcelona have on Wednesday made a renewed bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
IF the bid is £40million then I guess the saga has finally come to an end, for once... Arsenal fans can relax... If this is indeed the end, then he shall be missed and is one of few players leaving Arsenal with respect and reputation.

About time Wilshere OR Ramsey step up and show that they are capable of filling the hole left in the middle of the park by Cesc Fabregas.

yuup the deal is a mind numbing £100+ million

40 million to Inter and 20 million a year to Etto for 4 years.

the only issue is will he want to play in russia where they make monkey noises at players.

Still Etto for me is top 3 striker in world football

Skysports.com understands Liverpool risk missing out on one of their top transfer targets after Arsenal moved into pole position to sign Birmingham City defender Scott Dann.
I remember Dann forming a strong partnership with Johnson before having a surgery on his hamstring - but to be fair, I haven't seen much of him and have no idea whether he is a top 4 player, he's clearly the cheaper option and could prove to be a good signing, interesting to see what the fee is and how well he does at Arsenal.

I've only just heard 2-3 clubs have been over taken by mega rich owners, after returning from my vacation.

There's the Russian team as you stated and there's also PSG - pretty sure they signed Pastore recently, surprise capture.

Money really has overshadowed football - infact a player from Sporting Gijon has left football for good, claiming the sport and passion has faded away, instead money has over taken.

Sad, but true.

I know Bendtner is not liked by many footballing fans, especially Arsenal fans. But to be fair... He's actually talented and given consistent runs of games - he actually can pose a threat and become a decent goalscoring striker.

This would be a good signing for Newcastle, I was hoping they'd go for Sturridge or someone but the fee is way too much.

Bendtner isnt as Sh*t as people have made him to be. He can be a decent replacement to Carrol, if treated in the right way. i might be gassing, but, i would never mind him in the squad.

Chelsea look set to derail Real Madrid's bid to sign Santos's young Brazilian Neymar - Click here for the full report on this speculation.
The talented Brazillian needs a big move to a bigger club with a bigger reputation - it will only further progress his career and show the footballing fans that he is capable of performing well in a higher and much difficult league.

Hopefully he'll move to the right club - there's more of a chance of him being developed well at Chelsea then Real BUT Barcelona are also interested, if true... Then surley a Barca move would be more ideal and safer.

He needs at least another season at home in Brazil, still very raw and unpolished.

Don't see him being the difference maker at Madrid or Chelsea right now.

He's likely to develop better at a club with a bigger reputation, as they are likely to have better training facilities and top class coaches, a big move now would benefit Brazillian Neymar in many ways.

Of course, another year at Santos would do no harm as he has plenty of time on his side BUT it would certainly harm other clubs interested in him, as his value is likely to increase.

On the flip side, he may wilt under the intense pressure to perform and as most high-profile Brazilians are in Europe, be more interested in partying rather than be self-disciplined.

According to RMC (French Radio Station) we are interested in Aly Cissokho. I would quickly forget about Jose if we pull this off though it seems extremely unlikely considering he could easily play for a top club

Having said that RMC are not usually one's to BS since they got the Cabaye and Obertan signings spot on

I personally can't see Arsenal signing Jagielka - there's no reason why Everton will sell him, the signing just seems to unrealistic.

Wenger should have long sorted his defensive issues out - but now because of his delays, he now faces two problems which are... To add players in the defence department AND midfield department, also forward too IF Bendtner and Vela leave Arsenal.

Yeah everyone has known for ages that defenders were needed so why on earth are they in a position where the season has started and they have not signed a single defender (young Jenkinson does not really count)

Wenger needs to spend asap cos the fans are getting impatient, they were chanting today "where's the effin money?"

According to a source in Spain... Malaga have offered £4million for Almunia... Yes £4million for Almunia. I'd take that £4million with no hesitations.

Also according to Skysports, Wenger has made a move for Jadson and could within a week or so, let's see if this news develops.

Exactly.

Arsenal may lack experience in the Goalkeeping department BUT there's no doubt that... The department is covered with quality and big potential.

Fabianski lacks consistency but Wocjeich and Vito are the ones that excite me.

Also Schalke have 'rejected' a bid from Blackburn for striker Raul.

Hazard is having a medical today at Arsenal according to Matt Law of the Daily express - doubt it's true but let's hope this is true.

He would be a fantastic signing and would ease the fans pressure BUT also need a defender or two as soon as possible.

Chelsea manager did mention before the Stoke city game that he'd sign a striker and midfielder.

It looks like Mata could be a possible contender with Lukaku likely to be the striker.

There's also reports that Chelsea have also joined Arsenal in the race to sign Lille's Eden Hazard.

So it's either Mata or Hazard for Chelsea with Lukaku likely to be the only option for the striking department. IF Lukaku indeed comes to Chelsea then what happens with Sturridge? Surley he will leave?

I don't see Sturridge leaving, AVB is a big fan of his and I see him getting more involved this season and next. I think in all likelihood it is more likely that Kalou will be leaving this window, yes he has'nt gotten enough chances but he failed to impress when he did get first-team action. He for me is not a player in the Chelsea mould (aggression, resilience). Let's face it we're not a very talented team but we're a resilient team and Kalou does not possess such attributes. So it will be Drogba, Anelka (will probably leave next year), Torres, Lukaku and Sturridge so far.

Panic Buying by Chelsea that, Modric seem to be unavailable/they don't want to pay what he is worth.

Mata could be a good singing as he can play on the wing which chelsea need badly, but I'm sure Valencia Owner said if anyone wants to sign Mata then they need to do it before August.

Anyone else notice chelsea arnt going for the big money signing this year, guess Torres and Luiz price tag really hurt the pockets.

Well definitely going for the big money signing is not an option atm, there is a limit to how much RAMBO can open his war chest each season. But am happy with the current squad, the new manager is building a team for the future. Originally JM was supposed be a long-haul manager, the way AVB is going about his business leads me to believe that he has been given a suitable timeframe to achieve results.

They always make a killing, Portuguese clubs can sign South American players without any real visa issues meaning Porto snap them up cheaply and sell them at a premium.

Diarra is one of my favourite defensive midfielders out there - but like Gujar pointed out... Where does Sandro's future hang?

I think Harry using 2 defensive midfielders (Sando and Diarra) with Modri being given the advanced attacking role would be a superb tactical idea - especially in big games during 2nd legs where defensive approach is required.

The signing of Diarra would benefit ofcourse BUT this will affect Sandro's development at the club.

Lansbury is not at the level you would expect from a top Arsenal academy product at the moment. He's good and was ok at Championship level last year but he's light years away from Wilshere, Ramsey or Song.

Width coming from Kyle Walker and VDV playing the old messi role. So like Alves bombing down the right but VDV cutting in like Messi.

Tottenham will have 4 central midfielders by the end of the window.
Modric
Sandro
Diarra
Huddlestone

Palacious will leave either to PSG or Stoke and Livermore will go out on loan to a prem team hopefully.

Diarra is a very good player, has not played enough games in his career for various reasons

He is definitely an upgrade on Palacios, who I think is a bit of a one season wonder

Sandro certainly did well last season BUT this move won't help him as he is at the stage of his career where he needs to play week in, week out

Skysports.com understands that Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Peruvian starlet Andy Polo.

The 16-year-old forward is currently playing for Universitario de Deportes in his homeland, but he is already in the first-team.
I can see that pleasing the Arsenal fans

Only this once will I join in to this game you seem to want to play considering most of your posts seem to relate back to the Carroll signing which every Liverpool fan knows was overpriced.

Xabi Alonso £10m - David Bentley £17m

Xabi was better than any of your midfielders including your beloved Luka 'I dont wanna be here' Modric.

Daniel Agger £5m - Sebastien Bassong £8m (Now rumoured to be leaving for £2m)

Sergei Rebrov, Vega, Bent and countless others are ones you have spent big on yet they didnt quite light up White Harte Lane. Liverpool have had flops but its time you admit Spurs have had many too, perhaps youre too young to remember?

We finished two points behind you last season with an absolutely terrible squad, now we have invested (regardless of the extortionate fees we have spent) and I am confident we can finish above you.

Was good in his first season at Newcastle, when he moved to Spurs I can remember he was quality against Liverpool on the opening weekend and then he just faded.

Arsenal fans won't be pleased with that either - he would have been an ideal and realistic signing for Nasri but I guess the fee put Wenger off... As usual.

Chelsea got their winger and their striker [Lukaku]... I think they are pretty much done although I'd consider signing a defender who's capable of playing central and right back.

Mata bought for the Left, expect a central midfielder not a defender. They have an abundance of talent in defence.

No doubt about that BUT there's strong reports tipping Alex to complete his move to Juventus so that will leave a gap in defence hence the suggestion of signing a central defender was suggested.

Here are the sources to back me up :-

Chelsea still haven't given up for Modric. He could be the central midfielder with Mata being the winger and Lukaku the striker - solid additions if it goes ahead.

It all points to a 4-3-3, looking something like this

Mata - Torres - Lukaku/Sturridge

Lampard - Mikel - Ramires

Mata will be an excellent signing for Chelsea, much better than Malouda in terms of ball possession and he can ACTUALLY CROSS A BALL. I think Alex's situation is going to be linked with Rajkovic's, he has not been able to secure a work permit for the last 3 seasons and has been on loan to several clubs. If he manages to secure one then regrettably he would probably leave . Personally I would'nt want that to happen, for me he is the only complete defender that we have.

Can't believe Chelsea got Mata and we are getting guys like Ashley Young. Young is a good PL Footballer but he won't improve us in Europe. Argh, why doesn't Fergie go for more Spanish players.

True what Amir said, to beat Barca you gotta buy players in the Mata mould rather than Young whos a good player but it is doubtful whether he has that extra level in his game.

Same could be said about every other foreign player we're linked with to be fair. (ie Hazard, Mertsacker etc).

Arsenal scout Rowley watched Cahill against Manchester City - a late move for Cahill may happen.

this probably has to be one of the best deals of the summer

Inter Milan have agreed a €6m for Diego Forlan as replacement for Etto - What a bloody Bargain

These Italian boards really do know how to do the business.

Forlan is a kind of player that does not rely on pace, he has phenomenal goal scoring record. Italian league is best suited to him at this stage of his carrier, age does not matter in Itlay

Bolton claim that they have rejected a £6million bid for Cahill despite Wenger claiming that the figure reported by Coyle is incorrect.

Wenger's has been very disappointing in terms of bidding 'the right price' for players (ie Jagielka and now apparently Cahill) also bidding for players on loan when having the cash in the bank is just shows how stubborn the Frenchman is.

Another day passes and we still appear to be no closer to getting the much needed left back and striker

In terms of Left Backs the papers are still linking us with Erik Pieters and Aly Cissokho is still being mentioned. Also a couple of days ago Davide Santon was mentioned BUT at a reported £10mill doubt that will happen

On the striker front, it appears Sochaux saying they will report us to UEFA has resulted in us finally leaving Modibo Maiga alone. Today the name of Nolan Roux has been mentioned

Again plenty of names and links BUT it appears none are even close to happening
