I'd have sent in malik. Plenty of time and wickets left, Malik's shown to be better higher up the order and generally I'd leave umar playing at the position he's going to play mostly which is five or six.

I don't like Malik being in the team based on the fact that his recent performances have been crap, but I wouldn't have minded giving him a last chance at four or five. If we keep him at six or seven and he comes in, once more it'll be thought to have been pressurised to slog, or hard to stop a sinking ship. He'll just be back in the squad, as people will feel he hasn't had a proper chance. One of the reasons he's still in the squad and the team now.

Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali'a hundred run partnership brought much needed stability to Pakistan's troubled batting line up during the first twenty overs of the final ODI between England and Pakistan in Dubai.

The first over did not bode well for the home side as Hafeez was dismissed by a sharp, late outswinger from Dernbach. It took a combination of several fluent strokes from Shafiq and stodgy, nurdling play from Ali to ensure that Pakistan overcame the early loss to reach the hundred run mark within 20 overs at a rate touching 5.

None of the English bowlers, with the exception of the irrepresible Steven Finn, made an impression on the game until a clever, back-of-a-length indipper from Bresnan managed to fox the impressive Shafiq into cutting a ball too close to the stumps, thus ending the young star's action packed half century.
