The following names say that you're Punjabi, from memory a short list in order to connect them to Bollywood:

Kapoor, Arora, Chawla, Anand, Puri, Khanna, Sehgal, Bedi, Tandon, Chopra, etc

^^you're then either Punjabi, or half-Punjabi through your paternal side.

I think Punjabis are different from Sikhs...No? I have no clue..

Sikh is religion and majority of sikhs are punjabis and phatans, infact all of them are either phatans or punjabis.

Punjabi's an ethnicity, you can be a Punjabi Muslim, Punjabi Hindu or Punjabi Sikh.

In general, Punjabi clans can be found in these three faiths, but there are also clans which just follow one religion : like the Gondals from the Jatts are all Muslims and found in Pakistan, and the Bedis from the Khatris are all Sikhs found in India.

There is No Pathan link with Punjab firstly.
Pathans are Muslims and Muslims Only. Pathans have afghan anestory and mostly are from Uttar Pradesh Rampur and mostly from UP,Bihar,Bengal states. Then, in Maharshtra they are High in Numbers. In MH, they are Afghan immigrants, I've heard.
Pathan=Muslims and Some Sikhs who came from Kabul.

@Navrocks: they are pretty good number in south India.. "PATTANI" people they are called.

They're assimilated Punjabis called Hindkowans : ethnically Punjabi, but their languages has Pashto loanwords.
They're mainly found in Peshawar, where they come as traders, bankers, ... and that's why the "Peshawari Punjabis" are mainly of the upper-castes (Khatris mainly, followed by Arains and Jatts.)

The Kapoors are such case, they migrated to Peshawar for work, and since then spoke Hindko (Pashto loanwords) more than the Majhi Punjabi found in Lahore/Amritsar/central Punjab ; Hindko is a dialect of Punjabi, like Majhi, Potohari (Rawalpindi/Azad Kashmir), etc

A "Sikh Pathan" is an oxymoron : you just have to read how they saw each other some centuries before.

Sikhs are Punjabis in India. there are "Maharashtrian Sikhs" who are minority and they are all concentrated around Nanded .

I don't think Pakthuns/Pashtuns are considered same as "Pathans"
who are Indian people. Sikhs from Kabul also stay with Punjabis. Their ethnicity also is Punjabi?
