PPCL (S2) Contract Analysis Part 2: The Big Cats

Hello, and welcome all to the 2nd part the contract analysis of the PPCL (s2)

We shall now be analysing the Defending OD champions, The Big Cats

The billies used to be captained by Badsha, and did very well last season as they clinched the OD title, won 4th place in FC, while getting a first round exit in T20

Quote:
Contract
A Level
I Believe in the Teesra - Left Handed Batsman
cricketworm - Right Handed Batsman

B Level
SOSami - Right Arm Fast Bowler
talha3 - Right Handed Batsman
insaniyaat - Right Arm Legspin Bowler
LastLaugh_PK - Slow Left Arm Bowler

C Level
sehsan - Right Arm Medium Fast Bowler
navroks123 - Right Handed Batsman
MRSN - Bowling All-rounder - Right Handed Bat/Right Arm Legspin
violet_may - Wicket Keeper - Right Handed Batswoman
Shaan - Right Handed Batsman

D level
Zamzee - Bowling All-rounder - Right Handed Batsman/Right Arm Fast
Musaarthali - Right Handed Batsman
Indiafan - Right Handed Batsman
velu - Right Arm Offspin
PB - Right Handed Batsman

E level
Dubawi - Right Handed Batsman
The bilies have gone for a Batsmen loaded contract with 2 A contracts given to their batsmen. TO make up for it they have 3 B contracts to bowlers, and 1 batsmen.

They seem to hate giving top notch contract to all rounders and have gone the specialist way.

They also have a good bowling combination as they have an RFM, RF, SLA, RLS, as their top bowlers

The first class line up looks to favour Star batsmen vs batting depth, and are looking for a team bowling effort to get the other team out vs going for star bowlers. They seem heavily reliant on the three top batsmen and will be hoping that they get going.

The One Day team again have batting superstars, and will be hoping that these super stars cover up the long tail. They have a good bowling attack with four of them having a bowling average below 25, however, they seem to be without any bowling superstars.

And as with the Team Bring it, their T20 line up is very brittle. With 5 specialist bowlers, they are heavily reliant on their 3 star batsmen to stay on the crease, as even their allrounder does not have a high contract and seems to be very weak with a batting average of only 27, and easy to play with a bowl average of 31

Strengths

Batting: Their batting looks to be superb, with the top three batsmen having an average of 50,50, and 46. They will look to strike fear in hte heads of the opposition. They also have a wk/BatsWOman in their team. How that affects the team, we will have to see

Bowling combination: As said before the bowling combination looks to be very varied with an RF, an RFM, a SLA, and a RLS as their top four bowlers

Weakness

Allrounders: They have not given ANY large contract (read A, B) to an allrounder, that may affect their batting depth in the limited oVer competitions

Left handed bowlers: They have only 1 left arm bowler in the whole team. It may not affect them in the end, but you never know

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking at the final analysis, it seems as though the Big Cats want to increase their standing in FC very badly. They also are hoping that their last years experience in OD will be very beneficial this time around.

And it seems as though the Big Cats do not give two hoots about the T20 competition

Very similar ambitions to Team Bring It. Understandably so, FC competition is the heart of this league.

Do you even have the same bowler type? If yes, then I can't wait for our match.

Very fair assessment. With regards to All-rounders, I said it last season and I'll say it again this season, all-rounders are overrated. The teams that had the most success - Assassins, Cats, Outlawz only played 1 to 2 all-rounders at most.
