Oxy - how much would lpool have to spend to get those players?!!

alves - £25m
Pedersen - £8m
Tevez - £18m
Etoo-£27m

£78m approx!!! lpool dont have that much money even when selling players - more like £40m plus sales

Oxy I know Tevez has been amazing but if this was realisitic then finances would be way too much even with new owners. I can see the others happening but instead of spending £20+ million on Tevez, I'd give Kuyt more time. I've been impressed with him and he deserves a starting place for next season.

Alves £25 mil????? He is not worth anywhere that, anyway with Arbeloa and Finnan i doubt we will go after another right back. We can spend it on another centreback with Hyypia showing his age.

Pongolle, Cisse and LeTallec.. maybe even Hyypia.. As for the transfer kitty theres not a figure but its quite high.. If say a Zizou was on market tomorrow we would be able to afford him..

Crouch to stay or to go? Maybe rumors about Newcatle wanting to sign him midseason could start up again if we sign a top quality striker and he's not content with rotation policy for next season.

We have been linked with him and supposedly we are close to getting him for £5mill . We badly need a left back and Baines would be an excellent signing for us

What do you mean repurcussions?

Anyhow with our takeover and Big Sam as boss - maybe Owen will decide to stay cos our future is looking a little brighter

TAK he did not sign a new contract the first time around.. I know its hard to live on 60k a week but he didnt sign a new contract then.. the second time around was a cockup on parrys part where he didnt offer a new contract.. both times he turned down bigger salary.. for Gerrard and Carragher they believe a trophy with liverpool is worth 10 anywhere else..

hmm dont know about whether owen will stay but did you hear his press conference about how he was on the phone to carragher and, he said to jamie, stop sulking, youve won one champs league medal. then he went on to say how he would swap an arm for a champs medal etc..

is owen a guy who would do the right thing or would he go for the medals?? personally he owes newcastle one season at least

Lots of 'talk' that its ManU - and not much denial from any parties....unless I ve missed it.

As for repurcussions Geordie - I think he means ' why the hell did Freddie agree to any clause allowing Owen to go' - on paper, you paid a hell of a lot for him, and it seems if an offer of £9 mill comes in - he can go!

Madness, seeing as he's spend more time in St James Hospital than St James PArk!

medals everytime.. Hes a great player but theres no loyalty.. he owed rafa one season but left for pastures new to become a galactico.. I didnt feel any emotional bond with Owen anyway and was not really gutted like when Fowler left..

He skanked Liverpool - and he'll do it to Newcastle! He went to RM - and Liverpool won the CL in that season! He leaves NUFC now, what if NUFC with a billionaire in charge takes them to a cup success or CL qualification?

Not impossible.

Owen would be a disgrace if he walked away from NUFC.

Same here (and I imagine for majority of LFC fans). No bond with Owen - even though he did the business for us. Fowler has magnetic bonds with us.

And when Rushy went to Juve, and came back - we loved him.

Not the same with Owen. Not at all.

In the past i have defended his business nous, just had issues with other aspects of him BUT if Owen does leave then all i can say is what a major cock up - thing is im not sure if Fat Fred can go any lower in the fans estimations - hopefully he will be gone from the club soon or atleast get sacked as Chairman.

I guess Fat Fred got carried away and thought qualification for europe would be a shoo in - it has turned out to be an AWFUL decision. Fat Fred said there were no clauses when Owen signed,we had no reason not to believe him BUT i guess we gave Fatty more credit than he deserved.

I think a lot of fans have resigned us to losing Owen - he is obviously well liked here BUT if he did leave then i would have no respect for him whatsoever. I can understand a player wanting to win honours etc etc, heck if Given said he wanted to leave this summer you will find majority of Newcastle fans wudnt blame him and he would still get a magnificent reception every time he returned - Owen has given us Zilch for all the millions he has got in return

Finally a decent rumour around Villa. We're going for a £5 mill bid for Matty Taylor. I don't see why we need him with Barry and Bouma on the left already but he'd be a welcome addition to the O'Neill revolution.

I think us offering Cisse and some cash for Ribery would seem like an obvious opportunity for us but its never been mentioned.

I kinda thought he'd stay. It takes a certain kind of person to walk away from a club after contributing nothing......

Anyway Shepherd is an id1ot, Obviously someone was going to come in with a 9 mill bid for Owen eventually. Even if we had got into Europe, Owen would probably still want to go to one of the top 4.

Good news for Oxy and any other Liverpool fans wanting to get of rid of Bellamy, looks like West Ham, Aston Villa and Blackburn might be willing to pay 12 mill for him. Bit of a step - down tho lol

YEAH, I dont get this resignation feeling..i am kinda confident he will do the right thing and stay this season at least.

I would understand the clause if Owen played 2 seasons at the club and we finished where we did ..but fact is Owen made 14 appearances over the 2 seasons..which was about 9-10 starts which lasted 90 mins and he contributed 7 goals.. ( 4 wins)

Shearer doesnt believe he will go and Shearer was practically the main person who convinced him to come here.

If Owen did leave..he will be find out the true meaning of hate and it will be difficult for him to come back at all. Hehas earnt close to 13 mill ..practically a million a game.

For monk r.e. Quaresma

Atletico Madrid's move for Porto attacker Ricardo Quaresma is back on.
The Portugal international has confirmed he's turned down a bumper offer from Bayern Munich, so clearing the way for Atletico to take the winger to Spain this summer.

"They're a great club," said Quaresma, "but I don't want to leave Porto for Bayern Munich.

"I would prefer to play in Italy, Spain or England."

Atletico will have to offer at least £15 million to land Quaresma.

----------

Atletico have that money to spend on a creative player, they bid that much for nani but nani is going to leave for £20m (release clause)

In what way would that affect a potential Torres deal? Would Torres think that with a class player at the club then he should also stay and make use of Quaresma or would he think that Quaresma can take Athletico forward and would allow him to move on?

Reo Coker - £8 million
Bellamy - £12 million
Taylor - £5 million

Combined these 3 players are not worth £25 million. Hopefully Bellamy can move somewhere else and we can spend our money on a player who will actually enjoy playing for the club.
