I've said it before and I'll say it again (and I know it makes me sound petty).

My favorite cricketing side is (a) Pakistan and (b) the team playing against India.

I think I misunderstood. Between India and England test matches I would support the umpires. Aren't they suppose to be neutral?

england are second. so an india win would help us - because they are about 6th or 7th.

ok. fine, a draw.

I would have to say England. Indian victory would just make their fans glorify their team to be the best thing since sliced bread. That and we didn't win last summer....so they gotta match us (they seem to have a good record of it by losing in WC like we did ).

To be honest, whenever Pak plays, I dont "support" its opponent ... I just go about my business and look at the scorecard once the game's done ... As for the result - obviously, there would be a smirk when the Pak team loses but when they win it - there's no disappointment ...

I figured you might have taken offense by your response earlier.

But as I said, it's a full blown sporting rivalry and it's not even unhealthy as long as you don't get carried away.

It's easy to say 'I am gonna support any team against India' etc.

But in reality, I couldnt really care. I wont be watching as its on Sky, so its not like I get to see a great battle between the 2 sides.

Sure I'll follow updates on PakPassion - and perhaps join in the inevitable 'Sachin gets 100 - but team loses' debate!

Ultimately, whatever result is best for Pakistan and our rating is what counts. Go LG ICC Ratings!

Nah - I'd prefer you be upfront about who you are supporting.

Its no fun otherwise if our Indian guests are supporting Pakistan

England ofcourse. For many reasons as well: not too fond of the Indians, don't want Indians to overtake our 3rd place in the Test Rankings, and because, God forbid, if the Indians win, they will be bloating all the time about how they beat england in the last series and we didn't. As anti-neighbourly as I am, I would only support India in a game against the Aussies, in fact, I'd support any team against the Aussies.

ENG- they have a few players that i like to watch

I predict that no matter how well IND play, no matter how poorly ENG play and no matter how bad the weather is IND will some how manage to screw up like they recently did in the final test matches against PAK, SA and ENG(in IND).

Definitely supporting India. I am a die hard Pakistan fan but dont let India-Pak rivalry tint every contest out there.

I like the Indian team. def. a lot more than the English team which is heartless, soulless, and lacks passion. I like teams that BRING IT on the field, and no one does that better than our Asian teams.

I hope Tendu, Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman school the English bowling on their last tour to England. I think they are good enough to do it.

I'm in a bit of dilemma here... i want England to win because of obvious reasons, but i also want India to win because if england win then it becomes harder for us to catch up to them. Even if India win this series by white washing england they still don't come near us in the test ranking. But how can i support india...? So if they draw every match, I'm happy...

However, I think I like the SL and West Indies team more than India. SL are flamboyant, and West Indies are just a fun team to get behind, although lately they are starting to really suck.

But yeah, I am a fan of Indian cricket. Teams like Pakistan and India make cricket what it is.

I like the Pakistani team more than WI or SL anyway- more drama

But seriously, if it were talent alone, Indian and Pakistan would be superpowers in everything, just not cricket. Of course we'd still be fighting.

Hmmm, i dunno, im not gonna pretend that india are NOT are biggest rivals, they ARE, but were not playing them are we? haha, but ofcourse after crashing out of the world cup i wanted india to crash out too lol.

But when it comes to indian matches, its the same as it is when im watching football, dont really care who wins(unless its real madrid), as long as its an attacking game.

Whenever watching non pakistani cricket, i dont care who wins, just as long as theres good aggressive cricket, whosoever plays the beter more attacking cricket becomes the team i support. however, i have been biased against the aussies in test cricket coz i love the underdog, and also i know that a performance against the aussies truly is a genuine meritful performance. however in the world cup, once pakistan was out, i was supporting australia and then sri lanka, unfortunately they both made it to the final and then i just sat back and enjoyed haha.

I think players make a big difference, i dont really see myself supporting newzealand without bond, but if hes there, then theres not too much better than rooting for the them against the aussies

Players always make a difference, the ashes in england had me with england all the way, falmost passionately following the deed of flintoff, jones and KP. but in the ashes down under, england was a different team, and it was the aussies who were playing real cricket, so i was a happy aussie supporter. though one of the best series' as a neutral, was the newzealand australia series which was a draw i believe. and for some reason i could never resist supporting the windies against australia, even though they lost more often. but now that lara is gone that should change. and as for south africa australia, its aussies alll the way!!! infact i had a bitter sadistic smile watching them destroy the proteas in the world cup.

So for this series, its hard to say, both teams seem a little....toned down, theres KP in england.......ummm.....well, i dunno, KP i never liked the personality, but the player, and his onfield duels, make him great for the game, so i might just be going for india, with dravid in there.......guess ill be supporting individual players, and overall, whosoever plays the more attacking (or less boring) cricket should win hopefully . Good luck to both teams, may the gutsier one win!

I dont care who ever wins as long as we get good exciting cricket I am a happy bunny, btw I am one of those type who prefer a close match to a comprehensive Pak win, provided its not an important match like a final or a series decider.

As a Pakistan fan, I hope England crush India. I always like to see India get crushed. I may even wear an England top when I go to the games (a lot of India fans were doing the same last year) or what the hell wear a Monty style false beard and patka.

Seriously i don't root for any team's loss be it is pakistan or any other rival. Mostly i want the team that beat India to lose. Only occasion i sincerely rooted for Pakistan with full blown support when Pakistan trounced NZ twice in row in 1992 world cup where NZ were getting too arrogant in their familiar conditions. And couple more similar incidents. Other than that i am not such a serious hater as it doesn't matter for me anyway. Ofcourse there are exceptions. When India beat Australia in 2001 i didn't want Australia to lose to anybody until Mcgrath and Warne retire in a Test series. Especially Pakistan. They duly responded with 9 straight losses. But England achieved it at home which really somewhat made us share our bragging rights.

As someone has mentioned as long as it is good cricket it won't matter. Rivalary is there. But i like the game of cricket more than the countries that play it. So even if i try to ardently hate Pakistan i won't be able to do it. As a matter of fact SL and NZ have ticked me off more than Pakistan. I don't mix politics with game. If you do you won't enjoy the game.

Like Hash would say it: 'We will annihilate the Indians'

I want WE to win 6-0 out of a series of 3 tests...how is that possible you ask; just put Hair in charge, he will think of something :-)

Well for me, this is the table for supporting teams:

1) Pakistan

2) Anyone playing against India

3) Anyone playing against Australia

4) Anyone playing against England

5) Anyone playing against SAF

After that, I could care less.

I want Monty to take the Man of the Series Award for his 25 wickets against India, and this tour will once and for all 'retire' the 'greats' like Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman. I remember in some program in Sky saying that they are the 'Power 4' in the India cricket team and no one has a chance if they are around, and 'which selector will have the guts to drop Tendulkar'.

I would like England to win and win convincingly on the bouncy hard pitches which I expect them to prepare, it is there strength after all. I would like Sreesanth to be hit for many sixes from Prior, Panesar and Cook and see his reactions.

Had to clean up a fair bit of nonsense. Birdgang - I dont know if you're trying to wind people up but this sort of behavior will only alienate people from both countries. I dont want a response either cause this isnt a discussion we're having

i hope sreesanth has a real go at the english, and really creates some scenes, and hopefully kp will be up to the task too...lol, shud make for interesting viewing, unfortunately theres not much to hope from the likes of harmison in terms of antics or a bit of sledgin type drama, though if he can let at least the ball do the talking, as hes done on quite a few occasions, then that shud be excellent viewing too.

They are 'greats' with a sarcastic apostrophe's now? Wow, we really do know about our cricket.

Tendulkar a 'great'...pfft.
He is greater than any batsman, ever. tops.
