Announcement

Dear Members and Guests

The PakPassion team are delighted to welcome you back to our forums.

You will have noticed that we have re-launched the forums with a new software that we feel will provide our members with a much better all-round experience.

As with any upgrade, it will take a bit of time to get used to and there may be some issues that will need correcting. We have set up this thread

for you to report any issues that need looking into by our technicians or if you have any suggestions regarding the design and the layout of the forums.

We thank you for your patience whilst the forums were not available, but as you can imagine, a project like this takes a lot of planning, organising and hard work.

So, welcome back and happy posting!

Jason Roy's 60* helps Lahore to easily chase down 159 with 10 balls to spare despite Misbah-ul-Haq's 61*.

Islamabad United Team

Dwayne Smith, Shane Watson, Brad Haddin, Sam Billings, Misbah-ul-Haq*, Asif Ali, Imran Khalid, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Sami, Saeeed Ajmal, Rumman Raees.

Lahore Qalandars Team

Brendon McCullum*, Jason Roy, Fakhar Zaman, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Rizwan, Grant Elliott, Sohail Tanvir, Bilawal Bhatti, Sunil Narine, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Irfan Jr.

Brendon McCullum won the toss and as has been the trend in PSL, opted to bowl first against a different Islamabad lineup. Sharjeel was replaced by Asif Ali in the lineup as Billings was promoted to open the innings. The start by Smith and Billings was on the slower side but they accelerated after a few overs. With the partnership looking very threatening at 73, Elliott came on to bowl and had both openers bowled in the same over. Haddin lacked his usual fluency and also fell to the Blackcaps' all-rounder while Watson became his fourth victim as he looked to clear the boundary. Asif Ali didn't hang around but Misbah single-handedly dragged Islamabad to a competitive total, hitting some big sixes on his way to an unbeaten 61 off 36 balls as Islamabad made 158/7.

Lahore got off to a blistering start in reply, via Brendon McCullum. 36 runs came off the first two overs until Rumman Raees came on to bowl and had the captain caught in the deep after making 25 off just 10 balls. Fakhar Zaman scratched around as the innings lost momentum and was out for 5 but Umar Akmal provided some impetus while Roy was solid at the other end. A couple of tight overs piled on the pressure and Umar succumbed after making 35 off 26 balls while Elliott also fell soon. However, Narine was promoted up the order and ended the contest with a quickfire 26* while Jason Roy finished on 61* as Lahore sealed their first win of season 2 with 10 balls to spare.
