Announcement

Dear Members and Guests

The PakPassion team are delighted to welcome you back to our forums.

You will have noticed that we have re-launched the forums with a new software that we feel will provide our members with a much better all-round experience.

As with any upgrade, it will take a bit of time to get used to and there may be some issues that will need correcting. We have set up this thread

for you to report any issues that need looking into by our technicians or if you have any suggestions regarding the design and the layout of the forums.

We thank you for your patience whilst the forums were not available, but as you can imagine, a project like this takes a lot of planning, organising and hard work.

So, welcome back and happy posting!

Karachi Kings Team

Chris Gayle, Shahzaib Hasan, Babar Azam, Kumar Sangakkara*, Shoaib Malik, Ravi Bopara, Kieron Pollard, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan, Abrar Ahmed.

Quetta Gladiators Team

Asad Shafiq, Ahmed Shehzad, Kevin Pietersen, Rilee Rossouw, Sarfraz* Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Thisara Perera, Anwar Ali, Hasan Khan, Tymal Mills, Zulfiqar Babar.

Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to bowl, with Karachi getting a somewhat decent start. With Shahzaib Hasan looking good on 19, however, he fell to a slower ball by Tymal Mills. Gayle hit one six early on but failed to carry on and was dismissed by Perera for 10. Sangakkara and Babar formed a partnership but it was lacking tempo and the captain fell after making 25 in an attempt to up the ante. Pollard was promoted up the order but only made a quick 14 before Nawaz got him. Babar was steady but unspectacular at the other end. Malik and Bopara made quick contributions at the end while Babar got to his fifty to drag Karachi to 159/8.

Quetta started well in their chase with Shehzad smashing a couple of boundaries but Sohail hit back by removing the opener along with KP in two balls to put the pressure back on the Gladiators. He also got Shafiq in the next over, his 3rd wicket in four balls. However, Rossouw was imperious and he was joined at the crease by the busy captain, Sarfraz. Different bowlers were tried but Rossouw was equal to them all while Sarfraz pushed hard for the singles and twos to give his partner company. The South African got to his fifty off 30 balls. Sarfraz also got to a fifty, off 37 balls. Rossouw finished off the chase with five balls to spare as he ended on 76* off just 53 balls, his second fifty in two matches at the PSL.
