PakPassion.net is proud to present an exclusive section for the thoughts of one of Cricket's most well known media personalities and a close friend of PakPassion, Brian Murgatroyd. In regular contributions to "Inside Track", Brian will provide us with his views and insight on all aspects of international cricket.

Brian Murgers Murgatroyd, is an experienced public relations professional and has extensive international print and broadcast experience. He has worked as Media Manager for the England and Wales Cricket Board for two years between 1997 and 1999, moving on to hold the same position for Cricket Australia. Brian was the ECB's first full-time, travelling media manager.

He subsequently worked as Head of Media and Communications for the International Cricket Council for three years, before stepping down from the position in September 2009 to utilise his two decades of experience working in the sports media to freelance.

His freelancing has included work as a sports news correspondent for Reuters news agency for the UAE and surrounding area, television commentary on cricket for TEN Sports (including Pakistan v Afghanistan and Australia v Afghanistan ODIs), heading up the ICC's media operations in Sri Lanka during the ICC World Cup in 2011 and working as Media Manager for Dubai Sports City.

Brian's relationship with Pakistan and Pakistan cricket is long-running and ongoing, starting in 1992 when he covered many of the side's matches for the UK's Daily Telegraph at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Four years later he covered matches from Peshawar to Karachi in the same tournament for Reuters and from 2002 to 2004 he worked for TEN Sports covering series against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa, as well as Pakistan's victory in the 2003 Cherry Blossom Sharjah Cup in the UAE.

While working for the ICC, Brian had a ringside seat at the hearing over ball-tampering allegations during the England - Pakistan Test at The Oval in 2006 and was one of the ICC's inspection team that visited Pakistan in 2008, subsequently visiting Australia and New Zealand alongside the now ICC CEO David Richardson to try and persuade those countries to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy in the country.

A successful author, having written four books including three for Ricky Ponting and one with Alec Stewart, Brian also maintains an active audioboo account, regularly uploading interviews with prominent sportspeople at audioboo.fm/murgersb and will also share his thoughts via Twitter @murgersb.

He has lived in Dubai since September 2005
