Day 2 : Pakistan 557/8d, Bangladesh 107/5 (27.5 ov) - Bangladesh trail by 450 runs with 5 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
Azhar Ali's maiden double hundred and a superb bowling performance by Pakistan bowlers were the main talking points of Day 2 of the 2nd Test, leaving the visitors completely in control of the final Test match of the series.
Pakistan batsmen continued to aggravate Bangladesh bowlers' misery with Asad Shafiq joining the fun with 107 to his name until the declaration at 557/8. The top 5 home side batsmen then found themselves being blown away by a combination of fast and spin bowling by Pakistan leaving Bangladesh facing a near hopeless situation with 450 runs in arrears and just five first innings wickets in hand.
Junaid Khan (2 wickets), Wahab Riaz (1 wicket) and Yasir Shah (2 wickets) bowled with guile and passion to re-establish some of their lost respect which had taken a nose dive in the previous Test match in Khulna.
A repeat performance of today's bowling heroics could see further humiliation for the batting side on Day 3 with only a rearguard action, similar to that in Khulna, offering any hope of salvation for a Bangladesh.
