By PakPassion Staff (26th June, 2015)

Sri Lanka added another 28 to their overnight score till Zulfiqar picked up the big wicket of Sangakkara for 34 but Pakistan needed to do much more than that. Having lost Wahab Riaz to knuckle hairline fracture, the visitors were a bowlers short and there was added responsibility on the spinners. Yasir Shah was up to the task as he dismissed Thirimanne early. Mathews remained intact but Silva was later run out for 80 giving Pakistan some hope.

Chandimal soon followed as he came down the track to miss a quicker one to get bowled of Yasir Shah. Vithanage also didn't last long who was also bowled by Yasir to give him his 3rd wicket. Sri Lanka's lead now crossed 100 runs. After a 73 run lead Prasad was finally LBW to Hafeez after scoring 35. Mathews soon followed who was also judged LBW by a slider from Yasir giving him his 4th wicket. Yasir with this wicket became the quickest Pakistani bowler to 50 Test wickets in his 9th match beating Waqar Younis, Mohammad Asif and Shabbir Ahmed who did so in 10 matches.

Yasir got his 5-fer by getting the wicket of Kaushal for 18 and Sri Lanka were 9 down. Rain arrived with a few overs to go and Sri Lanka ended on 304-9 with a lead of 166 runs. Pakistan will need to come back stronger tomorrow take the final wicket and then bat strongly. The match is far from over yet.
