Former Pakistan pace bowler Sarfaz Nawaz has criticsed Pakistan one day captain Shahid Afridi for Pakistan's shoddy display in the last 2 one day internationals in the Caribbean.
Speaking to PakPassion.net Nawaz stated "the whitewash was on. The
Nawaz added further that "Even if Shahid Afridi was unhappy with the team that was selected in the last two one day internationals, his job was to lead the team to victory and make sure everyone gave 100%, but it was clear to see that he was not self motivated and couldn't motivate his team either. I believe that it's time for Afridi to step down from the one day captaincy and concentrate solely on leading the team in twenty over cricket."

Khan threatened to resign after the announcement of the test squad for the 2 match series, after being unhappy with changes being made to the squad without his approval. However following discussions with the PCB, Khan agreed to continue in his role as chief selector, despite there being no alterations being made to the squad personnel.
"The PCB should have accepted Mohsin Khan's resignation. He (Mohsin) threatened to resign and blackmail the PCB and that resignation should have been accepted. However once again Ijaz Butt backtracked and made another dubious decision. In an era where showcause notices are being handed out right, left and centre, why wasn't Mohsin Khan handed a show cause notice by the PCB?"
Nawaz further added that the on tour selection procedure needed to be examined and reviewed because at the moment it wasn't functioning well.
"There are too many people involved in picking the final eleven. The problem is, if the captain is not performing well then the others say to him that he has no right to pick the final eleven. The captain picking the final eleven only worked when Imran Khan was skipper and he was performing well and had every right to pick the eleven players that he wanted to play in each match.
"There are too many individuals involved in the selection of the final eleven players and they have their own favourites. Some are favoured because they are friendly with those players and some because they are from the same region or city. Selection should only be on cricketing reasons. The head of the selection committee should be the chief selector. He (the chief selector) and the coach and captain should form the “on tour” selection committee and the chief selector should take the responsibility of picking the final eleven players."
