I’ve just been speaking to the ever popular Rana Naved ul Hasan who is representing Yorkshire in his second season with the White Rose County. His first season with Yorkshire was a relatively successful one but Rana is hopeful that his second season will be a more promising one, especially given the good start he has made to the 2009 County season.
“Yes I feel fully fit, confident and in form” stated Rana and “I am very happy with the start I have made with Yorkshire this season”.
I quizzed Rana on his delays in rejoining the Leeds based County and them issuing him with an ultimatum. Rana stated that “there were problems at the Pakistan end with the Embassy and his documentation not being ready for the start of the season”.
Rana of course was one of 30 players originally selected for the preliminary squad by the PCB for the Twenty/20 World Cup, but was then removed from the squad due to his ICL connections, resulting in major disappointment for his fans.
Rana added “I haven’t had any communication from the PCB recently and am unsure about my international future”. “We’ll have to see what happens over the next couple of months and what the outcome is but I’m hopeful as I really would like to still play for my country”.
We’ll be monitoring Rana’s progress of course on PakPassion during the County Season and I will be meeting up with him later in the Summer where I’ll provide our members with a more in depth interview.
