Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net, former Pakistan opening batsman Aamer Sohail stated that international cricketers from around the world will follow Andrew Flintoff's lead and become freelance players, rather than opt to sign contracts with their boards.

Sohail stated "Obviously Flintoff has retired from test cricket and I dont know the full circumstances behind his decision, but I think you'll find that more and more players around the world will opt to become freelance cricketers, instead of continuing to sign contracts with their respective cricket boards".

Sohail the former Director at the NCA continued "What I think you'll find is that players who are towards the latter stages of their international career will go for the freelance option, as it doesnt restrict them and gives them the opportunity to earn a lot of money playing in competitions all around the world, like the IPL".
