Speaking to PakPassion.net, Pakistan all rounder Abdul Razzaq confirmed that he will miss the forthcoming 5 match one day series in Australia and the solitary Twenty/20 international due to injury.
"I've sustained a fracture whilst batting" stated the hard hitting 30 year old.
The former Middlesex player who played an important role in Pakistan's Twenty/20 World Cup victory, after being called up as a replacement for the injured Yasir Arafat added "It was one of those out of the blue injuries, where I was batting and the ball smashed into my hand. I'm in plaster and have been advised rest for one month by the medicaal staff. It's very unfortunate, as I was really looking forward to playing in Australia for Pakistan if selected".
Razzaq last featured for Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in November of last year, playing in all 3 one day internationals as New Zealand beat Pakistan 2-1 and then featured in both Twenty/20 internationals as Pakistan beat the Kiwis 2-0.
He was seen as a certainty for the tour of Australia and his all round ability, especially his lower order big hitting will be sorely missed by the Pakistanis.
