Announcement

Dear Members and Guests

The PakPassion team are delighted to welcome you back to our forums.

You will have noticed that we have re-launched the forums with a new software that we feel will provide our members with a much better all-round experience.

As with any upgrade, it will take a bit of time to get used to and there may be some issues that will need correcting. We have set up this thread

for you to report any issues that need looking into by our technicians or if you have any suggestions regarding the design and the layout of the forums.

We thank you for your patience whilst the forums were not available, but as you can imagine, a project like this takes a lot of planning, organising and hard work.

So, welcome back and happy posting!

Fine bowling by Pakistan spin bowlers sparked off a collapse resulting in an emphatic 127 run victory.

By PakPassion.net Staff (5th November, 2015)

Result: Pakistan won by 127 runs and win the series 2-0, Overnight: 46/2 in 22.0 overs (AN Cook 17, JE Root 6)

First Session: England will have had dreams of a memorable Day 5 run chase, but those dreams very quickly turned to nightmares as the Pakistani bowlers discovered all the demons in the Day 5 pitch. Yasir Shah got one to keep low on Joe Root in his 1st over of the day and trapped him LBW to dash English hopes.

It got worse (or better if you're Pakistani). Zulfiqar Babar got Taylor to edge to Younis at slip, before Bairstow was trapped LBW for a duck by Yasir Shah. In the very next over, Babar trapped Samit Patel LBW first ball and suddenly England were 59/6.

Meanwhile Alastair Cook continued to play serenely and, in partnership with Rashid, attempted to save England's blushes. Cook brought up his 50 just before lunch before an excellent inswinger from Rahat Ali bowled Rashid. It meant that at lunch England were 120/7.

Second Session: It was always going to be a tough ask for England with the tail now at the crease. Broad swept Yasir Shah to square leg to give Pakistan their 8th wicket and it brought an injured Ben Stokes to the crease.

Shoaib Malik, on his last day of Test cricket, had Cook stumped to end his battling knock, before Yasir Shah took his 4th wicket to end the match and the series.

Summary: A fantastic series comes to an end. All three Test matches had their moments and England may feel hard done by with a 2-0 defeat.

Meanwhile Pakistan continue their success in the UAE and become the number 2 ranked Test side in the world.

Fall of wickets:

3-48 (Root, 23.4 ov), 4-57 (Taylor, 26.5 ov),
5-58 (Bairstow, 27.6 ov),
6-59 (Patel, 28.4 ov),
7-108 (Rashid, 49.6 ov),
8-138 (Broad, 56.5 ov)
9-150 (Cook, 59.5 ov)
10-156 (Stokes, 60.3 ov)
