A PCB official confirmed to PakPassion.net that the Pakistani players taking part in English County cricket this summer may be asked to report back for duty to Pakistan to compete in the Domestic Twenty20 competition.

Whilst the PCB have not confirmed the dates for the twenty over competition that is scheduled to take place in Faisalabad, the event is likely to be staged from 24th June to 1st July, with 2 matches due to take place on a daily basis.

With Twenty over cricket extremely popular in Pakistan and previous tournaments being played out to packed houses, the PCB are looking to ensure that all of the high profile players are seen to be taking part in the upcoming tournament.

Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Rana Naved ul Hasan and Yasir Arafat are scheduled to take part in the Friends Provident Twenty20 competition in England. However the schedule in England clashes with the Pakistani equivelant and the PCB may recall the Pakistani players for the eight day competition.

Afridi has unofficially been named skipper of the Karachi Dolphins, although confirmation of the squads has not yet been made public by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The PCB official stated "The players in England are likely to be called back to Pakistan for the domestic Twenty20 competition, as we want to maintain the interest in the tournament and ensure that all of the leading players are present and taking part."
