Pakistan Test captain and current one day captain Misbah ul Haq strongly denied rumours that he had resigned from either the one day captaincy or the test captaincy.

Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net ahead of the squad's return to Pakistan, Misbah said "I can categorically state that I have not resigned from either the one day or the test captaincy. This is the first that I am hearing of this and can confirm that it is false."

37 year old Misbah was asked by the Pakistan Cricket Board to take charge of the one day side after Shahid Afridi withdrew from the 2 match tour of Ireland, citing the illness of his father as the reason why he was unable to join his colleagues in Ireland. Pakistan won both matches in Ireland as Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from international cricket on Monday.

Misbah further added "I have not handed in any sort of resignation and not spoken to anyone regarding resigning from the captaincy."
