Not too long to go before the much anticipated Twenty/20 World Cup commences in England. Threads on PakPassion about where to meet up for the match, have you got tickets etc etc and you can feel the excitement and buzz already on the forums. The tournament should be a great one, with some great cricket, some great matches and hopefully some good weather.

I'll be doing a short preview of each team outlining in my opinion their strengths and weaknesses and main players. Please feel free to agree/disagree with me and add your own thoughts in each of the previews over the next couple of weeks.

We start with reigning champions and favourites India.

Squad :-

MS Dhoni Virender Sehwag (vc)
Gautam Gambhir Harbhajan Singh
Ravindra Jadeja Zaheer Khan
Praveen Kumar Pragyan Ojha
Irfan Pathan Yusuf Pathan
Suresh Raina Ishant Sharma
Rohit Sharma RP Singh
Yuvraj Singh

Looking through the Indian squad the first thing that strikes you is the number of batsmen who can hit the ball a long way. Sehwag, Raina, Gambhir, Dhoni, Pathans, Yuvraj, Rohit are all capable of destroying any bowling attack in the space of a few overs.

The thing I like about the Indian batting is that its attack from ball one. You get rid of Sehwag and Raina comes in and looks to dominate. They lose a few wickets and you still have Dhoni and Yuvraj there in the middle order to hold things together, with Irfan and Yusf Pathan also there to counter attack.

Opposition bowlers are in for a tough time against this batting order no doubt about that.

Another plus point for the Indians is that all their players will go into the World Cup with competitive T20 over cricket under their belts in the form of the IPL, so they wont need to adjust their game from a different version.

One area though I feel though that the Indians may struggle in is their fielding and lookign through their lineup they have a few fielders that opposition coaches may be targetting.

The Indian bowling lineup is a well balanced one with options in the spin department as well as variety in the mediium pace department. One of the key areas though for India will be whether their pace bowlers can pick up early wickets and therefore allow their spinners to exert pressure on the opposition middle order.

Strength : Lots of fireworks in the batting department

Weakness : Early wickets from the seamers could be a problem

Main Man : Sehwag. If he gets going, then the crowd had better be wearing helmets

Expectations : Anything less than an appearance in the final will be a disappointment for their fans
