Salman Mirza and Shaheen Shah Afridi shared impressive bowling figures of 6 wickets for 19 runs in 6.1 overs, effectively dismantling Islamabad United’s batting lineup in Eliminator 2 of HBL PSL X. This helped Lahore Qalandars secure a commanding 95-run victory at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Friday night.

Lahore Qalandars will now face Quetta Gladiators in the HBL PSL X final on Sunday, 25 May, at the same venue.

Chasing a target of 203, Islamabad United collapsed for 107 runs, marking the joint second-lowest total in this PSL season. The Qalandars wrapped up the innings in 15.1 overs, with leg-spinner Rishad Hossain also contributing by taking three wickets.

For United, only Salman Ali Agha (33 runs) and Shadab Khan (26 runs) reached double figures. Shaheen Afridi opened the bowling attack by dismissing Mohammad Shahzad in the first over. Salman Mirza followed by removing Sahibzada Farhan and Rassie van der Dussen early on. Despite a brief resistance from Imad Wasim and Salman Agha, United’s innings crumbled quickly, with Rishad taking two wickets in the 12th over and Shaheen finishing with three wickets for just 19 runs.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars posted a total of 202 for 8, powered by half-centuries from Kusal Perera and Mohammad Naeem. After losing Fakhar Zaman early, Naeem and Abdullah Shafique built a solid 70-run partnership. Naeem scored a brisk 50 off 25 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, before being dismissed. Perera then anchored the innings with 61 runs off 35 balls, supported by Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s 22 runs. The Qalandars accelerated in the final overs, scoring 69 runs despite losing wickets, with Perera hitting two sixes and a four in one over off Naseem Shah. Asif Ali also contributed a quick 15 runs. This was the third time this season Qalandars crossed the 200-run mark
