Speaking to PakPassion from South Africa, former Pakistan "A" leg spinner Imran Tahir stated that he would love to be given a chance by the South African selectors to play against England.

"I'd love to be given a chance to play against England in the forthcoming series in South Africa. I am now qualified to play for South Africa and played my first domestic match of the season for Easterns and picked up 8 wickets in a 3 day match that was completed today", stated the 30 year old.

Tahir who has had two very successful seasons at Hampshire added "I'm very settled in South Africa and am looking forward to another succesful season for Easterns, although I have to remain patient as Easterns boast a number of current international players in their squad".

Tahir who recently signed for Warwickshire for the 2010 County season admitted that he had never actually played at Edgabaston. "I'm looking forward to my third season in County cricket and hope that I can build on the two good seasons I've had at Hampshire. Although I have never played at Edgbaston, I'm hopeful that I can do well for Warwickshire and we can have a good season".
