Shahzaib Hasan Khan, speaking exclusively with PakPassion.net after his explosive knock against the Pakistan team yesterday, has expressed his disappointment at being excluded from Pakistan's squad for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in May.

Shahzaib's swashbuckling innings at the Qaddafi Stadium was a match-winning one, as he hammered 67 off just 42 deliveries, with six 4s & four 6s. His calm and composed hitting guided Pakistan A to victory against Pakistan in the Pakistan Day Twenty20 Challenge Trophy match under the lights at Lahore.

Shahzaib told PakPassion.net that he was extremely disappointed not to be in the 15 man squad for the World Twenty20 Cup in May, especially after tasting the sweet taste of success in last year's World Cup. Shahzaib represented Pakistan in four matches in the 2009 T20 World Cup, scoring 77 runs at an average of 19 and a strike rate of 107. He has not been called for national duty since the that tournament.

"I wanted to impress the new coach and selectors with my performance in today's two matches. When I failed in the first match against Pakistan U19s, I was really determined to make up for it in the second match, " said Shahzaib. And make up for it he certainly did, as he won the match for his team staying at the wicket till the end and scoring very briskly as well.

"It felt good today, as the ball was coming on to the bat nicely, and I was determined to see my team through to the end," Shahzaib added. "I have realized that I need to add patience to my game even in T20 format and not go out there all guns blazing. This may mean a slight change in style, but it's for the overall betterment of my game," said the flamboyant batsman who has often been criticised for lacking in patience.
